Haha! Seems a bargain!
Just looked in my haynes, and there's something about the timing belt needs renewing on the 106 without exception. But on the 86 and 68 models if you remove/ refit a pump the belt can simply be locked with the tools and the pump removed.
So definitely need a 106 pump then. I wonder how much they are new.... LOL.
Might look into a decat. Again, no idea if it's at the manifold or through the system itself.
Yeah, the remap folks I've spoken to said anything from 100bhp - 110bhp on a remap alone.
How loud is it without a de-cat? Lol.
The 106 is used in the Megane, Kangoo and Qashqai too I believe. Might have better luck from the latter. Believe it's this part number: 8200380253
The pump is a...
I assume so?! No idea my friend. If I could get it to 106bhp territory, then I'd get it remapped. Should be circa 125bhp-130bhp then apparently (At least that's what a standard 106 maps to).
Sorted. I don't know whether one bulb caused them all to fail, but I ended up changing the 2 sidelights and number plate bulbs back to standard and they're working now. The 2 led bulbs I used for the number player almost looked scorched. Reckon the wet had got in and toasted them.
Cool, will take a look.
I had a look this morning, and the number plate bulbs aren't working either.
My driver's side sidelight did come on briefly (about a second!), before going off again. Did that twice.
Bit of an odd one. Both my front sidelights stopped working yesterday.
Rear lights still come on, low beams, high beams all work. Just not the front sidelights.
All worked fine for a good few months. Is there a fuse for them?
If you have very small hands, it's do-able.
However, I have found the only way for me to do it, is bumper off. Not pretty and time-consuming, but I changed all the bulbs last time round.
Hopefully only be a job to do every 2 years.
As for the ride. I find it fine for day to day driving, but...
Have a search on the forum - there's a lot of discussion about what bulbs to use. Personally I went with Halfords super bright ones, but then I have a trade card.
Re: coilovers, you don't have to "slam it" just because you're on coilovers. I've got mine set about 40-45mm drop like you'd get...
Not seen a Mk3 up close yet with a sunroof.
Re: HID's, personally, I've not bothered. I went down the route of better bulbs. They're a challenge in themselves to change anyway.
I think those who have lowered on springs have kept their original shocks. I bit the bullet and went for AP...
