Blocked cat for instance could possibly cause that.
Is it going through coolant quicker than fuel - if so, HG could be the cause. Mayo under the cap is a standard thing with those engines IIRC.
Get to a garage and get it checked properly.

Probably the most pointless thing to do to a Clio.. the 1.2's are massively over-braked as it is. If you're struggling to stop, suggest you just get new pads & discs to suit, and take a look at your tyres.

If you're good, you can get onto the alternator with jump leads from another battery, which should give you enough juice to be able to use the keyfob..
