A small update, restrictors.
My understanding of a restrictor is something needed to hold the power at a certain bhp. The restrictor has an internal hole at a certain diameter to achieve the bhp level, the bigger the hole the more power. The other way from what I've been told is to change the...
I have the same problem with 1 of my rear coilover dampers, They're covered under a 2 year warranty. I have the original receipt showing they're a year old and between SPAX and K Tec Racing (purchased from them by the previous owner) the pair of them will be sorted free of charge.
Potential lifesaver Chi, i need the fuel sender unit from out of the tank and the fuel return line. It runs all the way from the right hand side of the fuel rail under the car to the sender unit, i believe it's in 2 pieces and clips together under the car. If you can sell them to me that would...
A few more bits done in the time allowed this evening. Coolant hoses on, radiator in. Finished off the top inlet, thought I'd make it look a little different by sanding back the Renaultsport letters back to a half polished effort. Also mocked up the intercooler and pipe run, this should be all...
So another evening spent up at the workshop. While the proper work is being done like the engine going back in I'm tucked away in the corner spraying a couple of brackets and the top inlet. A little rub down, primer and satin black on the alternator brackets. The top inlet rubbed down a little...
For what it's worth an ok read. I know it's on a different car but interesting all the same, it gave me pointers in which one to go for.

Hi Lee, really appreciate that. It's probably going to be another 4 weeks, RS Tuning in Leeds need at least 2 weeks notice to when it's booked in. I'd say if it's been mapped it should be ok to drive back so I assume it would need taking up to Leeds from the Colchester area and hopefully drive...
I thought I'd paint a couple of bits as the weather's nice today, it should be enough drying time for when they go back on the engine the early part of next week. I'm also going to paint the rocker cover and inlets in satin black too to match the satin black hard boost pipe and intercooler. It...
Correct, I'd at least need the transponder and the owner keeps the blade from the key. The other theoretical option is to swap my ECU, UCH and key for the other but then it presents another problem. I have a 182, the other Clio is a 172 Cup model so the UCH on mine might have items that his UCH...
My original plan was to get it up and running on the mapped ECU then take it to RS to tweak it. After speaking to Mick at Diamond on Wednesday about trying to use the ECU it presents more trouble than its worth, so the plan is to map it with my ECU. I'd love to go standalone to get the most out...
I bought the kit 2nd hand, the chap i bought it off also had the std ECU mapped as well..... Which conveniently reminds me, he still hasnt sent it to me even though i bought the kit 2 months ago and sent him postage money over 2 weeks ago. Nothing in the post even after he posted in this thread...
I'm having the stock ECU mapped, i'd love to go standalone with the Gen90 as it's plug n play. Another ECU i'd purchase would be the Adaptronic. I need to see how the funds work out.
The amount of effort, work and attention to detail on yours are the reasons why it won't be done before mine. Hopefully by the end of next week mine will look in a much better state. I also need to take the rear Spax coilovers off to be sent off to be rebuilt, and it will also need to be booked...
Thanks Chi, I reckon next Tuesday will be a big visual difference to the Clio at the workshop. The time spent from now until Monday will be all the small jobs in preparation for the other chap to carry it on. Cannot wait to see the lump back in and things like the boost hoses, intercooler and...
Cracking hoses :)
Once they're on the car I'll know which way round they should be, another pet hate is having different clips so I had to make sure today they had every single size there and then in stock otherwise I'd have walked away with out any. At least they're the actual Jubilee clip in...
Appreciate the comments so far. I popped into Jewsons builders merchants on the way home to purchase all the jubilee clips for the coolant hoses. Buying the jubilee clips was a job I preferred to do in person rather than over the internet so I could make sure each clip was right for each hose...
