Photography equipment is on hold for the moment, my money is all going towards getting on the road later this year now, so I’ll actually have a car after being on a car forum for 4 years haha.
Riad wanted it removed all together because it reflects negatively on him to be associated with crash images at the event as an automotive photographer (and the fact that they aren’t his so he hasn’t taken the crash photos). I get my share of the money from it anyway so I’m not too bothered :)
He contacted them including his video and they assumed that the photos were his as well, he’s told them to change the credit but it doesn’t seem to have changed.
My photos from the crash (and Riad’s video stills) made it to The Mail Online -

He just looked a bit dazed, probably after having so many airbags go off inside the car too. He disappeared after about 5 seconds, grabbed the plates and went, then a mob of about 150 people were around the car lol.
As James says, I was with him and Riad, we saw it happen, I’d seen it coming given that he’d done 2 laps of the roundabout in similar fashion previous to this on his third attempt. Has was getting more and more angle each time. Made a horrible crunch when it hit.
I'm considering one as a smaller camera to carry around on a daily basis, just as a bit of fun too as something different. Probably second hand to keep the price down too.
Yeah those are a good selection, as James says the 17-40 is great and will save you around £250-300.
I love my 50mm F1.2L too, it's not been off the camera since I got it, but only get one if you know that you use your 50 a lot, if you don't then the f1.4 is good enough and will save you £600.
I have the non-IS Canon 70-200mm F2.8L and it’s a fantastic lens as everyone says. I can use it in low light with no problems, but then again my camera can handle high ISOs better than a 50D could. I can’t comment on the other two, I would prefer the L lens personally, but I suppose the IS of...
I’ve noticed that the contrast of my pictures vary between my Mac and some PCs, there seemed to be less contrast on the PCs I’ve viewed my images on. My pictures on my Mac screen seem to be similar to how printed ones have come out so I guess it’s fairly accurate.
Cheers. It was a great experience as a big Smiths fan as you can imagine. We went for a coffee afterwards and talked about The Smiths so that was really interesting to hear from an insider :)
