A previous set said "Get to 80 and brake really hard in a straight line" if I do that on a track day I'll have the front end of some nutter that's hunting me down, eating a Renault badge 😂
I'll have to see what the 'destructions' say and just see what's happen she on the track. I...
Afternoon all,
I'm in the process of putting my brake kit together and ordering the parts I want to fit for track use.
My questions are;
Do DS2500, DS3000, or DS1.11 pads need to be bed in?
If so, HOW will I bed in new pads on a track day?
This may sound silly or be something I do not need...
I have one... I wouldn't recommend one if you don't wash cars everyday. Why? Well I've had huge bills with mine, Oil changes, seals leaking, sending it away etc.. it's a ball ache.
I'd recommend a karcher, something powerful with different attachments, you think you won't use the attach,ends...
@chris blue
I know you're a little drive away, but you're more than welcome to come over to my unit to do stuff if needs be bud. Should be plenty of space in there too
Plenty of pictures please buddy :up:
I must admit, I did cut both seats out... but I can't remember which side of the plug I cut! 🙈😂
I've still got the seats so I can wire it back in if needs be, but I just wanted them out as the connectors were horrendous to remove
Small update
Parts sold
Interior trim - £5
Xenon Headlight - £25
Front Belts - £10
Total - £40
Total Now Spent - £677
I'm not trying to claw loads of money back from the parts I've taken off the car.
Mainly because most of the plastic trim I've got is worthless as it's all so readily...
If I'm honest, I was worried it was an internal problem that would've been a "possible disaster" (as the title suggests:tearsofjoy: ) but after a few are quite happy it's Dephaser, I'm not too worried.
I was going to be changing the belts anyway, so this is another reason to get it changed...
It's not as loud when accelerator is pressed, when I go back down to the unit, I shall get a cold start video again.
I'm not too worried if it is the Dephaser as it needs a full service anyway, so it shall get sorted rather soon.
Thanks bud! When it started I couldn't contain myself, I was jumping around with the lad!
It was a "moment" to remember that's for sure.. now to spend lots of monies 😂:grimacing:
BIG UPDATE TIME!
Good evening all.
As you may be aware from my update last night, the car has fired into life!
Happy is not the word!
It's been a little bit of a battle thus far and I must admit, last week I put an offer on another car with every intention of just sending the bits I couldn't...
I'm pretty sure it's further back in the thread too... then I think Craig mentioned he may take it around a track, but "it'll be driven like a fathers father" I reckon!! 😂
Colour does look slightly off, but it's going to happen if you give someone a part and ask for a specific colour, that part hasn't had time to age, and it's also plastic not metal so it'll look slightly different anyway.
It does need re-painting though as it's quite a way off the car colour.
