What was the chap working out in that thread?? I get the power to weight, why has it been multiplied by 1.08 to give him a different BHP? I'm assuming he's working out the equivalent total weight loss can equate to something different
Ok, so based on that figure and multiplying by 1.08 that gives me 193.4bhp based on the workings out on this previou thread i dug out on Cliosport. Is that correct? i knew you'd work it out Rob :D

It feels good, i wasn't sure what to expect weight wise so this figure (if correct) gives me something to work on if needs be.
I wouldn't mind working out the bhp/tonne, weight loss to bhp equivalent :o
I'll look into having it weighed somewhere else just to see, it was a round 960 which i thought interesting, not like 961 or 958... who knows whether a figure was rounded up. on the Phs1 Clio petrol gauge it was on the last 'dot' not on the red. I don't know how many litres are left in the tank...
If i were chasing figures there are a few places and items i could go for and have done, lighter wheels, cage out, drill holes in the bumpers, remove plastic blocks etc from bumpers, cut weight out the doors tailgate etc, lighter seats. There's probably more but i'm happy with how the Clio...
I've been mildly interested in having the Clio weighed, i'm not chasing figures just curious. So, as there's a scrap merchants round the corner from me i popped down there. Weights below copy and pasted from another thread on this forum.
MK1 172 - 1035kg
Mk2 172 - 1110kg

Just off the phone to Graham Skyes insurance dealing with the modified white Clio. Declared absolutely everything, polybushes, matched inlets, 6 point cage, FK coilovers, brakes, the full spec.

It's weird, building the Clio was all adrenalin as it was happening at a quick pace and really enjoyed doing it. The anticipation of seeing the end result..... And now.... It feels like 1 big come down, built just to how i wanted it but not getting why i'm not making the most of it. And now...
Showing my age but mine was a pastel blue Mk1 Ford Fiesta 998cc, i bought it before passing my test, 4 weeks after i bought a black Peugeot 205 GTI 1.6
I loved driving my Odyssey Blue Clio phs1 172 for over 2 years up until April this year, i couldn't think of a reason for selling as i enjoyed driving it everyday. I thought buying the white Clio would take the enjoyment level and fun factor to better highs but for some strange reason it doesn't...
I thought i'd trial fit the silver 172 wheels on today to get an idea of look..... Nope, not liking them so i'm gonna sell them or part ex for another set of 15" rims
When its cold and i fire it up its fine, within 5-10 mins and i say get to a T junction or roundabout to stop the revs decide whatever it wants to do, 1250,1500 or sometimes 2000rpm so i have to blip the throttle. At no time will it ever go back down to normal idle revs. When i was stuck in...
Cheers, i guess a backward step in performance and outright spec regarding buying a 'Cup' obviously more practical though
I've not really done much lately, last week i bought a second set of OZ F1 wheels which are silver. Hopefully after a wash they'll look ok, something different to black...
Haha cheers, actually thinking about it i could possibly fit 172 'CUP' badges to mine.
Clio Cup race rollcage
Clio Cup door handle spacers
Clio Cup alternator setup
No AC
No electric windows
Al i need are the Cup 'thinner spec' glass :D
There's something about it, i like the 172 cup... but then thinking if i sold the phs1 for decent money i could stretch to a 182 cup.
I couldn't compare my clio 172 to any other Clio model!
Rob there's no chance of OE interior going back in as all the brackets have been ground off and the cage is in the way.
Goodj: Cup = poor mans phs1.... interesting
