The red bit doesn't really matter so don't worry too much.
You need a very thin flat blade screwdriver to slide into the locking part of the clip and jam it in there. Once it's jammed in, pull (quite hard!) the two black bits. DO NOT pull the wires because they'll break before the clip comes...
You don't need clocks no.
If you go secondhand, you need ecu, uch, decoder ring (ignition barrel) and you can just swap your key blade over.
If I was you, if it's a nice car and only done 42k, I'd fit new.
It's up under the glovebox, black box. From memory it's only a 10mm bolt and a fair...
Not a lot! It's getting weighed before Xmas so we'll find out soon.
It's heavier than my mk1 so I should (with a completely standard engine) be glued to his bumper At the next track day.
Yesterday gave me some motivation. At last.
Just need to find some money. I'm so skint at the minute I...
There won't be. The UCH controls the windows, locking, lights etc. nothing to do with engine management. (Or nothing that would show up with a fault reader)
The last one I replaced I bought from Renault Wolverhampton on here, for under £150 and paid a mate at Renault £20 to code it. Certainly...
If I was on my laptop, I'd post links to each and every set on there. There are loads. Loads and loads. Why can't you see what I see when I look at eBay??
Those wheels came on the dynamique, the extreme (as an option) the extreme 4 and the clio campus sport.
I know very well what you're...
Including the wiring and sensors (they don't come with the gauges!!) that little pod was just under £1,200. Plus the hours he spent on the Perspex surround.
See the gaps? Once all the screws are out, you slide it right so the left hand side clears, pull the left hand side free and then the right.
He's thought of everything! (Apart from a new dephaser)
If the clio was going slower he would have broke less hard.
Nobody other than the clio driver is at fault for locking up and nearly having a crash.
If mark was doing 130mph and the clio driver decided he would do 130mph, it's down to the clio driver to drive at a safe enough distance that he...
Marks speed has fk all to do with anything!!
It's up to the clio driver to remain at a safe distance. Which he either didn't or wasn't paying attention. Either way, mark's speed is irrelevant in this instance.
IMO.
Standard engine, custom ITB manifold, power steering and ac delete, 182 manifold, custom exhaust, mtec ecu mapped at circuit motors/sabre tuning.
214bhp and 186ftlb.
Yeah it was a bit of a downer. The dephaser was replaced less than 150 miles ago but it was over 4 years ago.
I don't think it liked 8000rpm the first day after being rested for 4 years.
I told him it's an ideal time for cams but he's having nOne of it.
It had it's first outing today. It's quick!!
Sadly it shat it's dephaser on the last run and knocked the timing out :(
But it made a 2014 trackday which was the aim. Bloody nice car now!!
Some pics;
So, this has been made and is on the road! (Illegally...)
Going on its first track day on Friday.
It was mapped by circuit motors last week and it managed 214bhp ATF. It goes like stink!! Makes our 240bhp mini look like a micra.
I'll update with some photos on Friday. @Cub. should be in...
