    Photography Chat and Questions Thread

You do know that a constant aperture lens just means that it is (in this case) f4 whether you're at 12mm or 24 mm unlike a lens that is f4-5.6, which as you zoom in makes the aperture smaller. So you can change the aperture to whatever you want, it's not 'fixed'.

Yeah looks good! The tube stations will probably suit it with long tunnels and escalators that look good with a wide angle.

Yeah I’m loving it from a quick play around with it in the house. I can’t wait to get it to London in a few weeks. I know that fisheyes split opinion, but personally some very interesting and striking images can be produced with them :)

I took delivery of my Sigma 15mm F2.8 fisheye today, it's incredibly wide on Full Frame!

    Tamron 28-70 f2.8 - any experiences?

There's now rumour of Sigma bringing out a 24-70mm F2, so that might be worth a look when it comes.

    I Made a Cake

I sort of agree with the above comment, although on the positive side the light brown/cream background colours give it a good home cooking sort of feel, so I think that you’ve achieved what you set out to do :)

They’re alright for what you want I suppose. But personally if you want to see significant improvements over your phone then go for a second hand DSLR, with a lens they can be had for £200 and under :)

    Macro lens for Canon 1100d

Just get a proper macro lens, there’s no real replacement. Even something like a second hand Sigma 50mm F2.8 Macro would do the job for what you want. Things are getting way too technical here, the simple answer is to get a cheap second hand macro lens, such as the Sigma I mentioned.

My hardest photographic subject in over twenty years.

That must have been so hard to deal with :( At least you can hold your head high that you had the honour of capturing his memory, I’m sure he would have appreciated it.

My most viewed photo on Flickr yesterday.........

You can replace photos on Flickr whilst maintaining the stats you know, Ben. Just remove the dust spot and replace it, you’ll still have the faves and views :)

I like it again, Ben. But watch that dust spot in the middle of the sky above the buildings, and again, I think less water would be a better composition :)

    Riggers' 96-Spec JDM Dc2...

Yeah it should be, I'm getting a passenger band too, so I wouldn't mind going out for a few laps in this if that's alright? I'll supply the photos in return ;)

The Impreza picture and discussion thread

They look SO much better with the single exhaust rather than the pointless 4 pipes. I’ve never liked the 4 pipes as standard, it’s not what an Impreza is about IMO.

    Top Fuel Drag racing

The most amazing thing about the top fuel dragsters is that - aside from the astonishing figures and the power - there’s a bloke who has to sit in the thing as it does those unbelievably quick runs.

    Photography Chat and Questions Thread

LOL! the 18-55 is a 58mm filter thread, so it’ll be quite annoying having to buy two different sized filters unless you decide which one to get it for. As for Landscape I’ve never particularly found the need for a CPL, I like reflections in water etc but if you want to darken the blues in the...

It’s out of focus. As for noise it’s not that noisy really, it’s more the white balance in the bottom half of the image, if that was corrected it might not seems as noisy.

Just get the 70-300, Phil. You have to ask yourself how much these reviews are exaggerated, haven't these people heard of sharpening in post? It's an L lens, so it's not going to be horrifically soft, so don't worry too much about sharpness, if you're that bothered then just bump up the...
