There's more than a hint of mclaren f1 in that induction note. Lush.

    The Apple Watch Thread

Had a play with one yesterday. It's the best smart watch I've seen. Which is a bit like choosing the best one armed midget r****d to perform open heart surgery. Still think they're pointless, guy at work looks a massive star trek convention prick tapping at his wrist. Only feature I could see...

CLIO IV RS - Trophy from page 111

Well yes. In much the same way I'd like a £15k gt3. Things that don't exist are tricky to get.

Golf's haven't been boring since the mk5 gti. Brilliant cars.

Not many options? Fiesta, mini, 208 come to mind? And the polo, golf etc.

Is the gaitor not part of the gear knob, as per the e46? As much as I liked the standard illumination, ditched it for a stormwerks knob. Big improvement, the weight of the knob makes a surprising difference.

Assuming that's a Renault warrantied power boost you've got there chap, similar to mountune? Good to see you can get on with that box, most people seem to find the delay between pulling the paddle and something actually happening annoying.

But that's how people tend to run cars these days? I don't understand the point you're trying to make? Wether you view it as owning a car or not, that's how people tend to purchase cars?

CLIO IV RS - Trophy from page 111

They're still owners lol. That's the nature of modern car buying. If they were up at the same price, there would be more clio owners. But they'd still be massively outnumbered by fiesta drivers.

So after 12 months will the watch struggle to get through a day like a phone?

List price means bugger all these days. It's a monthly outgoing for most folk. And a golf isn't massively more expensive, but it's the far nicer car.

CLIO IV RS - Trophy from page 111

It's not a cracking car. It would of sold better if it were. It's not as much fun, not as quick, not as economical as the fiesta. It's not as well built as a mini. It's fugly. And 5 doors just isn't a bonus in this class. In the golf/meg class it is. It offers a lot of things that buyers in...

I wonder if they ever topped the oil up. Old mans Aston was dealer serviced from new. Fred did the 40k (roughly) service, air filter had cars original build date sticker on.

    The New Phone Thread

Had a play with the edge in Paris. Personally prefer the feel to the iPhone, but hate the Samsung os. For my usage, doesn't offer anything over my current phone, and it's too big (standard complaint )

You should get rid of it because your phone tells the time. And then buy an apple watch so you can get all your messages etc on your phone. Because your phone doesn't already do all that........................

Pricing of straps makes me baulk when it's Rolex etc. But there's a heritage and process at work that I can understand. Pricing of Apple straps brings to mind snake oil. Each to their own. But regardless of the functionality they add, it'll never pull me away from old fashioned watches. For...

You have to applaud their marketing. It's the most impressive aspect. Build a massive, expensive phone that a large number of people because it's apple, and to be seen using apple. Then sell an expensive add on, that means you have to use the expensive phone, less.

    The Apple Watch Thread

Watches offer more than that. You can appreciate them as objects. Hence why the lack of accuracy with automatic movements doesn't make them cheaper. Judged purely on functionality, they should be cheaper. You can't appreciate the apple watch in the same way. It's the ultimate evolution of this

For me, they're pointless. Had the pebble watch, and once past the novelty stage it's not been used. They'll be a success, but they'll never, ever be able to offer what a good 'proper' watch offers. And the pricing is absurd.
