Cheers scott, and Brazo that is what I was thinking, which is why I didn’t know if I liked them. And ISO 160 was accidental, not that it’d make much difference to 100 anyway but still. The small aperture was used so that I could do the 30 second exposure to get the cloud movement, I was aware of...
So last night I went to Crosby the home of Anthony Gormley’s famous ‘Another Place’ for a sunset. Feel free to C+C because I’m not sure if I like them or not :S
Anyway the pics-

I was Just over on TP when I spotted this advert at the bottom of the page
A Sigma 1020mm F45.6.... apparently.....;)
Sorry to waste your time with this pointless but mildly amusing thread but I thought I’d share :o
I have a cheap one, and I mean cheap, got it off ebay about a year ago it was only £5 or something, and its fine, does a good job.
It Gets results like this

Note how deep the red looks, and the shine has been removed from the windscreen.
These are a must for automotive photography, It takes a lot of the reflections out of the car and makes the colours look really deep, it also gets rid of the relections in the windscreen so that you can see the interior. Another nice effect is that it makes headlights look like they have a...
Yeah sure, Mine is a simple screw in filter, it works a treat, a lot of people get graduated ND’s and other filters that use a filter holder, but I just got a screw in for convenience :)
This is the one I’ve got, the thread size is 52mm (kit lens thread size), but if you have need bigger there...
Stunning views from up there too! :)
Thanks, I’d recommend a 10 Stop ND Filter, had a 3 stop before this one and you just can’t block enough light to get these exposures.
Yeah Of course, Sensors are quite delicate, and any mistake could completely ruin the camera, so I’ll make sure I’m clued up on it.
I think I’ll get both, then I’m sorted for the future as well.
Yeah definatly! A quick question, do you have to use the cleaning solution or can you just use the swab? because I’m not sure I trust myself with the cleaning solution
Thanks :) Glad I managed to recover the shot! and It did, I don’t fancy doing it for every long exposure I do, so I’m going to invest in one of those Gitzo’s Rocket Blowers and see if I can remove some of the dust, if that doesn’t work then its paying to get it done.
Right, so I managed to remove the awful dust spots, which are going to be quickly dealt with, and the Sky Temp changed :)

Cheers Dan, Just as I posted this I noticed the HORRIFIC amount of dust marks on the pic, I always make sure the sensor stays clean by taking appropriate measures when changing lenses, which is a real let down :( Its quite embarrassing the amount of dust on this photo, makes me look like a noob...
I’m with Luke on this one, Also I find the find the viewfinder too small on the D5100, when I had a play with a D7000 in Curry’s it was in a different world in terms of build quality and more advanced features; the 39 point AF points, more cross type focus points, magnesium alloy body, bigger...
