The field of view is so narrow because the sensor in your camera is smaller than the ones in DSLR's, so 10mm on your camera is roughly 27mm with your crop factor of 2.7, a full frame DSLR would be a genuine 10mm.
So for an effective 10mm you'd need a 3 or 4 mm lens, which doesn't exist, I hope...
Is there no Christmas meet this year? Last year’s turnout wasn’t brilliant, but I’m sure with the better organisation from Jon as area rep we could get a good turnout this year! :)
You can pick up Nikon D80’s for around £200 on ebay, possibly a bit less or more but it’s a great camera, and it should be ‘complicated’ enough to satisfy a beginner for a while. It’s a good decision getting a bit more advanced DSLR at first, I found that I grew out of my D40 and then D5100 very...
A street style one from this morning, I say street style because it wasn’t actually on the street, but you get my gist-

A larger aperture, or a longer exposure as they look too dark, you notice the noise/grain more in underexposed photo’s so that could be the source of your problem.
Looks good to me! In the right location that could be a brilliant shot.
Star trails is something I’m yet to try, If I get anything half as good as that on a first attempt I’ll be pleased!
I’d recommend the Canon S100, said to be one of the best compacts out there and just £15 over budget, there is an S110 out now but thats £120 over-budget.
The S100 is actually a compact too, none of this high end compact rubbish that defeats the object of a point and shoot, yet still has the...
Loving this game so far, I prefer the driving physics to FM4, it might be a bit more arcade style but I always got the impression the handling was a bit understeery on FM4.
I’m disappointed to see no Renault’s though, hopefully a car pack will be available in the future :)
Finally managed to upload mine after 2 days! Anyway-

I’d just buy the 55-200 VR, at £140 it’s a bargain for the performance, unless you shoot a lot of sport or whatever its not worth the extra money.
If you decide photography is for you then move on to better glass, and even if you got no money for the 55-200 when you sell it its hardly going to...
Yeah as James said, I have the 55-200mm VR by Nikon, but I’m going to get the Tamron 70-300mm VC when I have enough money, its just as good as the Nikon version and £100 cheaper, so take a look at that :)
But bare in mind the 55-200 VR is about the £140 mark, whereas the Tamron 70-300 VC is...
Make sure you turn any sort of IS/VR whatever your lens has (if it does), this will make panning easier believe it or not, and slightly improve focus speed. IS is only useful for static shots using a low shutterspeed where you don’t want any camera shake at all.
And set the camera’s focus...
