I've had pretty much all variations.
Ph1 172: my personal favourite. They do look older, but prefer the way they drive (15's, cable throttle)
Ph2 172: best compromise. More modern looking, better spec. Exhaust is cheaper when (not if) it breaks. More suspension options than a cup'd 182. I...
10% extra per month so someone else gets the benefit when it goes back? Nah.
St2 is very well specced. Has everything you could reasonably need. St2 mountune'd. Done.
I understand where Chris is coming from with that. There's a reason that certain members of press compared the RenaultSport ethos/approach to porsche's gt3 type stuff.
As a drivers car, they are special. Despite the cheese gearbox ;).
Just not the car for me. Massive shame, because on paper it's perfect. But in terms of driving, I just didn't enjoy it.
I'm almost confused by the whole experience, I've not read a single bad review of them! Feel like I've missed something lol.
I preferred the 200 steering. And the 200 doesn't have great steering. Low speed ride on the fiesta is awful. Got better with speed, but driving at 30 it's very busy.
No point fella. I didn't need (or really want) to get rid of my car. But the idea of a new car for very little cash was very appealing.
Nail in the coffin was using the test drive route to get home in my car. The old shed is staying.
In all honesty I've gone from 95% having one, to 100% not. I just didn't gel with it, maybe it's a bad one.
The dealer however, was excellent, puts Renault to shame.
I know within 5 mins if I want a car. Nothing bar the driving position impressed me. Was a year old car on 13k. Didn't feel that quick, I'd expected it to feel noticeably quicker than the 172. Steering was quite heavy (surprising as I'd read the steering was light?). Brakes felt quite Audi...
If it's a brake/clutch switch error, the esp/abs warning lights will be on. Try pressing the R (resume) button, this also activates the cruise. Does the speed limiter work? If neither work I'd say it's a squib issue.
