no idea mate? it works fine when auto focusing, but manual focus is impossible cos the focus ring is getting stuck on something. i think its goosed.

lens was delivered today, i'm not impressed. the focus ring is so notchy in manual focus, its practically unusable. bollox

Been on the look out for one of these for a couple of weeks, 2nd hand ones have been going for approx £100 on ebay. Bought one yesterday from a UK seller for £72 brand new! good old ebay. Think there are a few owners of this lens on here, is it any good?

I wouldn't say you need a tripod, the HDR photos I did were all done in photoshop from one original image - creating 2 additional images by adjusting the exposure

u can't do bracketing on the D40 (but u can on the D50 ;)). You need to create 3/5 images in photoshop, with say -2 and +2 difference in exposure. Then load them into photomatix and play with the tone mappings

they are very good cameras, the closest you'll get to a DSLR for a fraction of the cost.
