I had a K-Tec stelth on my Mk 1 172 and was great fitting a bit of a pain but made a nice noice and helped with the revs and deare i say a little more power .
Had PE2 on the rear when I got the 172 and budget on the front and going round round about nearly put me in a ditch in the wet @ about only 20 MPH or so . Got PE2 on the front and same round about in the wet solid as a rock @ about 35 MPH . Would never have Budgets on a car ever again.
I had my first Mk 1 172 in 2004 with std Mk1 gear box and got my second 172 Mk 1 in 2009 ( off Budgie ) with the cup gear box in it and have to say it feels quicker than my first one and it was on a R/R @ 161 BHP in Std form :approve:
Just to add my 2p worth. In gear times of the VRS will be quicker due to the torque in the lower rpm and there fore will be easy to drive ( same as in my Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo ) and in the clio 172 you need to be in the hi rev band 5k + . If diven flat out the clio would have the legs of the VRS...
