Re: My Pink One..
Right another little update.
FailTrophy is now off the road :dapprove:
Purely as i've bought a daily :D
However, this week, lots of treats have arrived for it:
Alcantara front & rear door cards
Alcantara rear bench inc. headrests
Brembo HC Discs
Ferodo DS2500...
Cue the jokes/haters/roflcopters :rasp:
Yup, the gearbox isnt overly precise, the steering isnt very positive & the engine sounds like a washing machine, but its a lovely place to sit & certainly better than a Fabia VRS.
Spec wise, its in a pretty rare colour (mauritius blue), with silver...
Fair enough, but how do you now expect to negotiate on price if the car is good, but not ideal?
They already have your deposit, & subsequently have you over a barrel if you do want the car, so how do you expect to get the 'best cash price'.
Madness imho.
Wait. You've put a deposit on a car, without viewing it, subsequently hindering any potential negotiation that you may need to do upon seeing it
Is it a refundable deposit?
Try buying one with 170k miles, every journeys like an adventure ...
To be honest, the OP bought a 182 for £3600, it was never going to be perfect at that price!!
Pardon? ;)
Might be a plan!! Will have to arrange some footy again, i miss your accent tbh :o
I'm tight, so id fit them myself, then sort the alignment with hopes, dreams & a piece of string ;) Didnt get the revised spring rates in the end, might just phone Faulkner & see if thats where...
Its very good, but i preferred the rear-end twitchyness of the saxo, allows you to steer on the throttle a bit more.
Trophy is more planted, but not as playful.
Unless you're a race engineer, messing with suspension settings is for GT4 imho, simply buying a decent setup out the box is a better idea for me, ie Bilstein, H&R, etc.
In the end, i decided on some H&R coilovers, but then a bit of a delay ensued with delivery, so i got a refund. Collecting...
This +1.
Plenty of guys on here that would sort you out if you got the parts. Just credit card it, dont flog the car for bugger all to one of the vultures!!
On a side note, how much for the car ;)
Not sure if this will help anyone.
Essentially i put a lot of thought into buying a 200 on this plan, so did the neccessary number crunching taking into account all fees, depreciation, fuel, etc based on me doing 25k a year. Servicing is cheap for the Trophy as i can do it myself, 200 would...
Its an amazing deal if you do low mileage & want to change your car every two years.
Its not a good deal if you do 30-40k a year, & like to change your car every 6 months :(
Had this issue with my current Trophy, drainage holes in the sills were blocked, so they filled up & the boot got damp overnight.
Might be worth a look :)
Hiya Bigman,
I havent booked it yet for this week - but someone will be able to no problem - i'm out though as i have an important meeting on Wednesday morning & dont want to be home at 11pm the night before ...
I cant wait, i'm looking forwards to buying a 2 year old Clio 200, with 12k miles, for £9k due to oversupply ;) Saxo VTR/VTS style depreciation ftw ...
Re: My Pink One..
Bought #433 with 51k on it in May, sold in Sept (with 63k on it) to Luke_89.
Bought #461 with 170k on it in Sept, currently on 172k & keeping for the forseeable ...
According to Ollie82. i must have shares in the DVLA ;)
