Bought some more T1R's today.
The issues with supply & possible launch of the RS2 Z213 with a different tread pattern put me off. I like to have matching tyres all round.
So you drove a highly modified one. Great comparison lol.
Next time, try back to back with standard ;)
FYI, i had access to a 306 Rallye, DC2 & 172 Cup at uni ... In all seriousness, & without sounding like a d1ck, if they were that good, i would have owned one by now.
Personally, id rather be driving a mk1 mx5 on skinny/bald rear tyres.
Much more fun, & you're less likely to die when you fall off the road.
And yes, i have driven something with lots of bhp. The speed limit in the UK is 70mph, so anything over 95 & you're walking to work.
Tegs, hmmm not such a fan tbh. Housemate had one when i had my 306 Rallye.
Drove it quite often & it certainly wasnt worth the extra £4k at the time. Strangely, he thought the same, so flogged it & bought a 172 cup instead ....
Imho, & havin only passengered in a car with them on. It makes things too easy in a clio, re: boring.
I tend to use 26-28psi rising to 32 when warm, any other pointers?
Hmm, i heard this too.
FYI, i dont mind the T1R's, & their ultimate lack of grip isnt too much of a concern, its fun that im after more than anything with track days, otherwise id just buy R888's, id say they were more than comparable with the F1's i had on the saxo anyway.
Its the...
I used Qwikifit for an MOT on the saxo, they failed it on the following:
1. Tyres - despite two of them being new
2. Exhaust - despite it being 6 months old, & stainless
3. Front brake pads, again, despite them being 3 months old, & uprated.
Strangely, they sell all of those items...
I need new tyres for my latest purchases, the car will be used for track days, & occasional road use ...
T1R's are £30, & offer 'normal' levels of grip, so are fun on track. But the sidewalls are soft & wear isnt amazing. If i get a puncture i can go to the local corner shop and buy one with...
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
Ok, so after the bent wheel saga, my faith in 2nd hand wheels was slightly 'dented' :dapprove:
As such, and for the 1st time in probably 5 or 6 years, i bought some car stuff new, i.e. unused, not from eBay, CS or Sax-P. Whilst, i'm aware...
Re: Project 172k Trophy, & its endless track abuse
Nah, its just my incredibly poor cameraphone skillz :o
The centre of the seat cushion is exactly in line with the centre of the steering wheel, although coming from the Recaro's, i am finding it odd not physically standing on the pedals...
Balls, thought i had found my cheap(ish) solution to my 15" wheel woes :(
Also, Fred, if i found some wheels that were 57.1 centre bore, do you know anyone that could mill them to 60.1?
