I guess it's your word against he's. I guess if you had a pic of it in the garage showing it had one then you'd have proof, but as you don't you could just be fighting a losing battle.
Are you going to get a genuine one or the common fabia one?
New genuine shocks will be a better, coupled with a decent lowering spring. Cooksports seem to be the chosen track spring for 172/182's on standard/cup shocks. Obviously there a fixed drop but it'll ride better than the ktecs and still perform well. New shocks and springs all round will cost...
They also look like quite slim conrods. I didn't realise till I took them to work and a few guys showed me some that they have from other cars and these look a fair bit slimmer.
The bilsteins are proven to be awesome. Search and you won't find bad reviews. Perfect for road use and a good few people have them on track, although the hardcore fans say there too soft.. The Gaz's are damping adjustable and are a decent kit. I went out in a Clio not so long ago with the Gaz's...
Not much to update but a few pics.
Upper inlet off and painted
Pic of the porting
And painted
ARP rod bolts purchased. Standard Vs ARP
197/200 master cylinder fitted
And my trophy!
More soon.
Ah I see. Yeah it probably would be cheaper then as second hand ones go for peanuts as people don't normally want them!
Yes mate I'm in Harlow also. I'm opposite Halfords. (Living with the in-laws while saving for a mortgage) I've got a ph1 172. Be good to get you to the north weald meets that...
You won't need a bootlid. Just remove the sport badge and put a new one on the original side.
Dental floss, hot soapy water and polish is your friend
As others have said, standard bumper and stealth or even recessed exhaust would win.
Where abouts in Harlow are you?
Yeah but you shouldn't have to buy a new one!! There £130+ for cup ones. Id most definitely argue the case, even if they agree to half the payment. Have you got pics while it was there?
The guy at work has got a speed that's adjusted by a toggle and not the trigger? I'll see if I can get the model as I'm unsure the link above is the one I'm on about.
What's the overall condition of the cup. The engine looks very clean so I'm guessing it's been painted recently/at some point?
Just wandering what the exterior/interior of the car is like compared to the engine bay. Got any pics?
Has anybody got any experience with these? A guy at work has one and it looks a decent bit of kit but thought I'd ask on here for more views.
