Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco
And so it begins.
I now own a ph1 on 89k :)
Few things about the car.
Belts done in 2011 at 62k by BTM.
Matched inlets
Decat
Piper exhaust
My original pikey induction kit
Half cage
Cobra seats
Raceland coilovers
Flocked Dash
The williams wheels on it arent mine...
Nice little project! Massive RB fan :)
Im currently starting the same kind of thing, going from my monaco to a ph1, though im technically downgrading it in order to future proof it for a better build :)
IMO there's no real difference driving a either, and I've had a ph1 and ph2 both setup virtually identical.
I prefer the way a ph1 looks, it's a bit more special in my eyes.
Yes you can, with relative ease!
Theres a guide on here which is very good :)
I did it in my first ph1 and will be doing it again in the ph1 ive just got lol
Make your own. Round here we all use ITG Maxogen filters and have seen good gains. All the parts are readily available off ebay.
Heres a few examples of home made ones.
I remember reading about chase racing modifying steel wheels to allow there car on a trailer, maybe worth sending them a PM/looking through there progress thread.
Here is a video of my 421'd clio.
And here is a video of my GT Cammed ph1.
The 421's make a bigger improvment imo, bear in mind that the ph1 weighed 910kg and the ph2 isnt far off standard weight.
And yes both videos are s**t but its pretty hard to drive when theres a camera in front of...
Ive had two cammed engines and would agree with what is said in this thread.
My current clio has 421's and they do make a massive difference however im now starting to build up a ph1 and i wont be putting the cammed engine in it as I dont see the gains worthy for what i use the car for.
Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco
And the breaking has begun, only doing small bits at current that leave the car drivable until the end of the month.
Tax came through for the monaco, its now £143 for 6months! I swear it keeps going up?
PH1 is being dropped off Thursday night.
Oh and if anyone...
Re: dmallett's 421'd monaco
Just for doing things like top mounts really, obviously I'm going to be taking bits off all over the place, if it saves me time messing about with a stuff that's tight as I'm weak!
