    Putting a Price on it

Registered with HMRC a month ago - just waiting for the official to come through. I totally agree with what you're saying Andy - I am purely doing it at the moment for referrals. I'll start incrementing the price after my next gig on Saturday. The first few, in my view are 'portfolio builders'...

    Putting a Price on it

Sounds like quite a few of us have tried making a bit of money out of it. I've recently (previous two weeks) started getting some interest after doing some family shoots, so I've started charging. I'm making a loss at the moment. My one paid gig was £40 for 1.5 hours shoot, then I spent about...

    Photo competition - January 2011

I use two SB600's in a lastolite hilite when using white, and have the black top to put on that, i've got the vinyl floor for the BG too... I'm still getting used to it, desperately need some studio lights though.

Fixed 50, which filter do you have?

As above. It's a cheap lens, don't add a filter it may reduce quality.

Hate the forum, love the for sale section though. I only got up to 100 posts on there so I could sell stuff.... don't use it for anything else.

    Wide Angle lens....

Heard good things about the 10-20 from Sigma. For the amount you'll actually end up using it, I don't think the canon/nikon ones are justifiable. Just got a dead cheap sigma 17-35mm f2.8-4 delivered. It's for full frame though, so true 17mm, about the same as the 10mm on little frame. Wont be...

    Tempest Rally - Yateley Stage

Cheers for your comments guys... Absolutely love it. I was happy with my D90, but just needed full frame for some stuff I plan to do. 1/200 on that one, at ISO 800. I had about 45 seconds of perfect sun, luckily enough a car came along just in time :) Manual all the way. Can't remember...

    Tempest Rally - Yateley Stage

My first real outing for the d700, went down to the Yateley stage of the Tempest Rally. Massive downside though, my sigma 70-200 broke! Meant I had to be more creative though, which is a good thing, I suppose... Thoroughly enjoyed it though. Will definitely revisit... These are...
