i had same problem when i bought mine, followed guide - problem solved. it is't a plesent job but you still have to do all the stripping down just to change the motor so may aswell save some cash.

car looks tidy, i wouldn't go for a sunstrip but defo lower it on springs. any idea if the cambelt and waterpump have been done, i'd put those at top of the list.

true, and also any future insurance premiums will rise as a result of claiming on insurance, regardless of it being his fault or not. if it were me and the damage is as you say then i wouldn't go near an insurance company.
