    Stolen R14CUP

Grrrrrrrrrrrreat news it was found and you have it back!!!!! As above, mine went walkies after they broke into our house during working hours and nicked the keys...luckily it was discovered 0.5 mile away the next day...only it didn't have the keys in it. I ended up paying £385 for new...

    Written off :(

There wasn't anything on the road out of the ordinary. Rain following an extended dry spell conspired to make the roads greasy/slippery. Have you never experienced this yourself? As for unlucky...unlucky that very little momentum carried him up a bank and allowed the car to slowly topple...

Why the f*** are you all still going on about this????? He admits he went too fast for the conditions. That is an extreme rare occurrence on Cliosport... he should be praised for admitting he's at fault and accepting there's something to learn from this experience instead of going on about how...

    Downgrading.

It's not downgrading, it's called getting real, and with every day you delay you'll regret it more and more as what you'll get for your money property wise will be less, and less, and less...

    Another 200 Cup Vs...

I LOL at the comments on there. Of course everything is about 0-60, £s, and top speed innit. It's a lost cause trying to convince them otherwise, they'll never get it.

Getting bored of the ph1 'track' car already......

I ran my Cup in religiously, and with a basic filter and exhaust I got me a proven rolling roaded 177 bhp. Not many other 172s could say that.

As for 25mph, easily done in my opinion. My Ignis came with ditchfinders up front, and super-sticky Yoko A043s on the rear. I swapped them front to rear to make it a little 'looser', and it ended up behaving like it had a supermarket trolley castor wheel under the back whenever it was wet...

Getting bored of the ph1 'track' car already......

Agree with most in here, I couldn't live with mine day-to-day...the bare metal interior, lack of power steering and harnesses make it a once-a-week-only commuting car, and that's mainly just to keep the discs clear of rust. Apart from that it gets a good run out each weekend and the odd...

That's mighty impressive! What have you learned from this? Long periods of dry weather followed by a deluge of rain will always turn the roads to ice rinks as dust, rubber, dirt, mud etc. builds up in the dry and isn't washed away. Then the rain comes and for a few days you have to be careful...

    From GT4 to clio?

172 Cup is the one to have, mine's covered over 120k in my hands from new and it still rips along quite nicely. Always had a soft spot for the GT4 after a mate had a standard 170bhp GT. Never realised how heavy they were though  With the standard 240bhp they're only 166 bhp/ton...which...

Track banger budget £1500. Ideas please.

You'd probably find a rough Ignis Sport for that money. They're outstanding on track.

    Brake query

If I was you I'd change to braided lines before doing anything else. No matter how good your fluid is, no matter how fancy your discs are, no matter how capable your race bred pads are, if your standard rubber hoses expand due to heat (which they will!) you will fail to get any pressure...

    Load sensing valve

No it doesn't. It failed the MOT becausae the tester is a muppet, not because of the alleged missing part. There's a VOSA guide somewhere which you should print and take along to educate them.

Hello from me....and my new 172 Cup

Amen to that. Brakes and tyres are all you need. Plus a bit of weight saving. And a decat. With some minor breathing mods. And maybe a remap. Losing the power steering's a good move too.

best way to drive to save petrol

This. Change gear at whatever revs you like, and you'll still get s*it MPG if you press the loud pedal too hard. As Chris said, the actual revs that you use makes almost no difference at all to how much fuel you use. It's acceleration that uses fuel, and that's determined by how hard you...
