Good production, direction, and editing, OK driving.
Everyone's reacting like he nailed it inch perfect on one run...the tyre marks alone show he was at it all day for the perfect take.
It didn't fail on the numberplate light when it was originally tested?
If not, I don't think they'll test it again...I thought they only retested the item the car failed on i.e. your rear brakes.
I said I went over 60mph, not by how much or how often, plus my reg. no. isn't exactly hard to find somewhere on the net...I've never worried about showing it before so why bother worrying now. I thought as the camera was facing backwards it might be harder/not possible to get a read of my...
...or "I fought the South Downs, and the South Downs won".
Went out for a serious hack across the local hills at the weekend, camera facing backwards, very little traffic, lots of overtakes and plenty of pace.
Stayed out far too long and the Cup didn't do too well tbh, got in a bit of a mess...
And seeing as none of them were done on the same day, with the same driver, with the same exact tyres/pressures, with the same fuel load, comparing them to decide which is quickest is a complete waste of time.
They're all nippy, the end.
Except the 172 Cup which is like sitting inside an ICBM.
I've got the SM1 - great bit of kit so long as you properly clean the surface you're applying it to.
Really? I've never had a problem mounting mine internally at any track...just never really been brave enough to stick my camcorder on the outside in a potential 120mph wind!
Ah, you see, it's not just the visors, but the interior light and the headlining too. Came in at a useful 5 kgs all in.
I've just attacked the South Downs in it, and the Cup came off badly. Vid and pics to follow.
Retired from daily use now, so just get's a track outing or a good kicking across the South Downs every now and then.
Sun visors?! Ripped them out 12 months ago...the t**t-strip is an absolute necessity, impossible to drive in low sun without it. Went for mat black to try and make it not so...
Mk1s have me consistantly around Druids, I just can't get the nose in like they can, then I spend the rest of the lap trying to get back what I've lost.
Haven't chased any for ages though, great vids.
Spent hours yesterday giving my Cup a going over, then woke up today to find this.
I know who it is, same c*** that did it last time - he's a gonna get a right kicking.
;)
Looks OK I think, it needs lowering slightly though.
I think so.
Most will say that unless the aircon is actually turned on there's no load/drag on the engine, but on a rolling road, the power-steering pump is doing nothing as the wheels are dead ahead, and taking that pump off mine released another 7bhp.
So there must be something in it?
172 Cups own everything. No hiding away from the 89kgs weight saving - that's almost a 14.5 stone lard-ass.
Having said that, as above, get one with a weak engine (most are noticeably stronger on all the RR sessions I've been to) and there's not much in it.
