If you haven't changed your HU, there's barely any point. The amp in the HU is what drives the speaker - changing the speaker isn't going to achieve much.
Change the HU (decent enough alpine/pioneer etc), stick a sub in the boot, cut the low freq's to the door speakers and you're done...
Are you looking to save cash or get a new car ?
Spending a few grand on a newer car to save £100 on insurance isn't going to make you richer ;) I'd have thought you get 40-45mpg all day long in your 1.2, especially in a long commute (assuming you're not sat at 110 all the way there !) -...
Ahh my bad .. read the first paragraph about 14 times and I think you're right.
Well, I guess it depends how much you want/need for it, and how much time/effort/ballache you can be bothered to put in ?

Nothing amuses me more than cars like this making all the noise in the world...
There's reliable and unreliable ones out there.
My old one was a royal pig but the current steed is alright so far!
Equally immensely helpful as well.
You're welcome.... :o
Pop a pic up ? Are you sure it's brake dust ?
IronX should remove it, presuming it is actually brake dust ! Bilberry is a safe brake-dust remover too .. IronX should easily remove it though as it's far harsher than billbery.
UniRoyal RS2's are £59 each (£63 delivered) at CamSkill... but then you're still looking at £10 a corner at least to have them fitted. Pretty sure 205s are actually cheaper in W over V rating too and over 195s as well, so look about and see what's best for you.
Bearing in mind they're the...
Well under budget :D
I guess this is for time lapses etc ? :approve:
http://www.technicapture.com/mododolly.html - No prices but worth an email ? First thing I've found... apart from the above :o

Looking about, I think you're going to need a mortgage TBH... ouch.
Second hand eBay...
Doesn't sound like a great idea really when you think about it ...
He needs to know what it'll cost him (variable (i.e.: rates of bills and rough use) and fixed (i.e.: the rent, insurance, tax (this is legit, right?) and costs of lifts etc)) before he can make a decision. You say it's his own...
