Ideas on how to bring life back to a Clio 172 front grills?

Whilst I agree with the chipping comments, and I'd not usually paint anything on a car unless its a last resort, the front grills on 172/182s goes blue instead of the usual faded black. All you do with any form of restorer is make it shiny blue instead of mat blue. IME.

Ideas on how to bring life back to a Clio 172 front grills?

I took mine off on the weekend. Washed it down with hot fairy liquid and water, left overnight to dry properly, painted with a can of satin black... Looks brand new!

    ***How much is it worth?***

Make the car as standard as possible. Modifications appeal to about 10% of buyers, whereas the other 90% of buyers will be put off.

    ***How much is it worth?***

Worth that all day long. My dci 65 (87k, fsh, 54 plate) is advertised for £2295 and has had 3 phone calls in the first day. A dci 100 in that spec and colour is £2500 to sell all day long.

Some more of my old cars.

No! I was gutted. It had 18 inch tsw diablos on it, and was crammed with JL and Phoenix gold audio. Could shake a can of coke off the roof playing Daniel beddingfield! Lol!, that's how long ago it was! I sold it to a technician at Renault who wrote it off shortly after his mate barfed over the...

Horses for courses mate. You drove round in a corsa where as I'd rather bathe in my own vomit! Lol. I've put pics up of the scoobys, m3, Audi, evo etc before. I just thought I'd share some of the cars that I had no digital pictures of. .

Best place for standard 172 cup parts?

Adam at Renault Wolverhampton will be your best bet. He's got a traders section on here. He gets me stuff, posts it, and its still cheaper than what my dealer can do it for. (because they're c***s)

Remap and Induction kit really worth it?

The car will benefit much more from spending the money elsewhere imo. It's a case of what you prefer tbh. I'd rather spend £400 on sorting the handling out so that you can use whatever power you've got to its maximum.

Mr Gerbil, you are stark raving mental. Completely lost the plot! But I love it. I love the amount of work and effort you're putting in. Well done sir.

I can't help thinking those photos do the car no justice at all. Shame because it looks to be a nice example.

    Clio mk2 dci 65,80 or 100?

Personally, I'd just buy the best car I could for the money I had available. Regardless of it being a 65/80/100. Lets be honest, you aren't buying it for out and out pace so IMO i'd try and buy something that needs little to no money spending on it.

Possible clio project car - Mk1 clio

By the time you tell your insurance that your 1.2 clio now has a 1.7 turbo engine in it, it will be cheaper to insure a 172.

    leaky sunroof

You can try a new foam seal. (Remove the sunroof, scrape off the old one, refit the new one) But the chances are it will be the main rubber seal in between the glass panel and the main frame. On an old T reg car, i'd personally silicone it all shut. Make sure it's bone dry, open the sunroof...

Not if you're disciplined. As in buy the engine, then bin the card. I wouldn't do it personally, because I have the will power of a Basset Hound and i'd be maxing it out in no time.
