No, I mean that the method both Recaro and Renault use is the same - using the Renault runners. So it makes no odds whether the seat is fitted aftermarket or at the factory, it's still only 10mm lower than the standard seats.
I can't tell if that's a joke or not, but I assume you're aware of just how much better the Recaro seats are than the standard Renault ones?
Plenty of people are happy with the standards though and you're right that they are expensive, but certainly not anything approaching a rip-off.
I've...
It does go faster - the air resistance and turbulance on the vinyl is less than painted metal, so it will have a marginal effect on the car's ability to cut through the air and hence go faster.
At least that's what I tell people. ;) It's undoubtably not true, but I've yet to meet someone who...
(Note: this was posted before but I don't seem able to edit it.)
There seem to be a lot of people asking about the Recaro seats so I thought Id post this to save replying everytime.
- Seating position is approx 10mm lower than standard.
As an option when buying a 182

Ive got a set but they are from the Evo 7, which have ever larger bolsters.
Ive not fitted them as Im still waiting for the subframes to arrive.
Dont forget that as they are from a 4dr they have no tilt mechanism!

Sweet! Im after one of these. Cant be doing with the hassle of a removeable faceplate HU and adaptor box.
Where did you get it from? Cheapest Ive seen is £150 I think.

Seen this asked a few times so I thought Id explain.
Red dots are nothing to do with Cup pack or not.
The red dots mark the "high point" on the tyre - this is so they can be matched with the low point on the wheel to minimise radial runout. Alloys dont tend to have low points as much as...
Yep, thats the one.
I chatted to him quite a bit and he took me out in it. He said he doesnt get one here much, hopefully hell reply but if he doesnt I can report that it pretty much sorted the problem - certainly enough to hammer around the track with only slight contact, this time from the...
No, coilovers would make the car stiffer, and give adjustable ride height but you get non of the benefits of these Sachs units. These being:
- thicker damper rods.
- increased oil / gas capacity
- hydraulic bump stops
On a super smooth track, where they are no real bumps to absorb, then...

would coilovers get a normal clio close to the handling of this new one?
and the lightweight wheels, are these just normal torrinis?

The whole set up should fit fine, its just getting hold of it.
Then theres the price. Say a std damper costs £50, thats £500 a corner for the shocks, plus the cost of springs...
If they really do cost that much then it makes the Trophy something of a bargain!
Dont seem to be able to edit my post, but I made some enquiries yesterday and the subframes are £114 per side(!), so £228 a pair.
Pretty steep but they are TUV approved and being Recaro, obviously very high quality.
If it only does it when you first pull away after starting the engine, and not when stopping at junctions etc, then its the ABS initialising, which is normal.
If it does it all the time then Id get it checked out.
Certain numbers are held back by the DVLA, usually 0-20 plus 100, 200, 300 etc and some others like 111,222,333 etc.
172 and 182 arent deemed desirable enough to withold, so they are (or rather were) allocated to normal cars. You wont find them on the DVLA site as they are all newly issued...
Ive got a few mods planned:
- Cup badges on the B pillars.
- New reg plate
- Head unit with iPod interface
The most expensive one though:
- Recaro Trendlines retrimmed in Renaultsport trim with embroidered logos. This is assuming the material can be matched well enough. I hope it can...
On some cars they dont go behind the number plate, they stop about 1cm above it.
I dont know if they are wrong or this is? Not that it bothers me at all!
I was outside washing it at 11pm last night, didnt want the bugs to dry on
Well its not red and its not a cup... Change of name is in order I think!
Was looking for a Racing Blue full fat with both cup packs and as low mileage as possible for less than £10.5k, with stripes too if possible.
Was all set to buy from a dealer in Crewe, right colour but 15k miles and...
They are supposed to come with them. Roy on here had the same problem, http://forum.cliosport.net/display_topic_threads.asp?ForumID=2&TopicID=155325See topic here
If they deny it you could always show them the official Renault press launch photo, which clearly displays the Cup badges on the...
Heres an idea:
- Take the keys upstairs.
- Have another set of keys (that dont fit the car), make them obvious, big "V6" keyring or similar and place them on a key rack in a place where they will be seen.
- Rig this key rack up to an alarm or alert system of some sort.
The idea being...
