1. That is a truly horrific smash.
2. It proves why all track cars should have a 'proper' cage, etc.
3. Its a german e36 so will be fully insured.
4. It was a proper open pitlane trackday, so not your normal tourist day.
I hopefully can add something useful here.
It depends entirely on your car lol. 172/182 it made no difference whatsoever running on normal vs super. However, in the golf, I've done 2k miles in 10 days on motorways with cruise at 75mph.
Normal - 28mpg
Tesco 99 - 33mpg.
All other variables...
So Brad.
Qualifications? Do you race, are you an instructor, etc.
If you do, but you wish to remain anonymous, im afraid your just going to make yourself look like a tool in this thread, your opinions are quite different to everyone else ... so if you are actually even vaguely qualified in...
As Brad has questioned Fred's knowledge, id be very interested to find out his experience as well ... my guess is that its probably a lot greater than most peoples on here lol.
People also appear to have failed to grasp that rally, road & track driving are all quite different in their...
Anyone interested in having a Cliosport kickabout, would be in the Surrey area somewhere, probably Guildford/Woking/Staines ... me, Nick & Ollie have decided we really need to do some more exercise and well, everyone likes football, whether they are any good or not !! We arent any good btw.
If...
I was in this situation in January. Im a finance broker, so was on the front line for the credit crunch, saw redundancy coming & sold my 172 cup. Bought a cheap 328i Sport to run around in & then lost my job in February.
Clouds have silver linings though if you work hard. I got a new job in...
You two need to go & frequent an Audi forum or something, they wont know what it is either :rasp:
Essentially, braking whilst using the throttle to match the revs, makes your downshifts smoother & is essential in powerful RWD cars to avoid transmission lock up + big crash whilst 'making...
Latest purchase, Magnex back box, centre pipe & decat. Wanted a Pugsport or Saxpsport, but the latter has only just been launched & is £260 ... the Pugsport doesnt fit properly.
This fitted in with my 'low-cost' ethic ;) & makes it far easy to swop the cat in & out for MOT purposes ...
Im back to what i love best, trying lots of cars in a short space of time, five since January :D
Interiors rank lol, seriously, Germans & tartan dont mix. Plain black leather would be far nicer!!
Re: the extra doors, im not that bothered, parking spaces at work are tiny & the 3drs doors are...
Well, after only getting my BMW last month (http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=457739), my boss decided that it wasnt right for the company & that we should look into alternatives ... he also wanted a new car lol.
A such, he bought a 550i Sport yesterday (touring as its ummmm...
Little bit more progress last night.
Fitted the new front bumper (no cracks) and ripped the rest of the interior out in preparation for the cage & bucket seat ... so now have no carpet or sound deadening anywhere.
Obviously need to remove the dash & get all the weight out from behind there...
 This is exactly why i thought id post this; just in case any of the so called 'track' cars did get used properly.
I simply aimed to try and avoid the 'i just rolled my car & decapitated myself, oops lolz' threads ;)
How exactly?
In my mind, its fairly simple really, im trying to point out the restrictions of a caged car to those who may not necessarily have the necessary experience to fall back on, ie those who install a cage as it 'looks nice' & completes 'the look'.
A cage is installed to perform 2...
Just something i thought i should point out to everyone now that a stripped out rear, fixed buckets & harnesses are slowly taking over from turinis as the CS mod of choice.
1. Have you ever seen what happens when a car rolls with fixed buckets, harnesses & no rollcage?
Lets just say you cant...
