Hope you all enjoy, it's been a while but so glad I've got the car back. Really missed the constant learning and great network of support on here 👌
After having the ball joints replaced and wishbones bushes checked and everything tightened, found out it was the dogbone mount creaking so lubed and tightened and all OK.
Car feels bloody lovely however so a job well done.
Had near enough all suspension components replaced and checked / tightened and the creak remains.
Having replaced the engine mounts recently wondering if this may be the cause? The only one I did not replace is the lower gearbox one and having had a closer look it does look worn.
What engine...
Ball joints were replaced a few years ago but with the better Lemforder ones, no creaking when the car is rocked or steered on the spot when stationary.
Problem only occurs when the car lifts off at low speed or comes to a stop at low speed and most so after a drive.
OK no worries will do.
I was led to believe these were the preferred choice, I'm going to get some genuine lower arms and have done with it as everything else has been done.
I have been trying to get to the bottom of a creaking noise that has arisen that only occurs after a drive and happens only at low speeds. The noise to me sounds very much like a creaking. The sound does not seem to occur when the car is turning or when it goes over any bumps in the road, more...
I am amazed at this as mine is still on original injectors at 133,000 miles and never had a fault with them to date (touch wood!).
Is there some form of design fault or is it more down to the fact that mine is used daily giving less time for anything to settle?
I ran the 'race' bushes for a week and it was too harsh as a daily drive for me. Have since been sent a set of the blue 'road' bushes and I now drive it like it has always had this from factory.
Love the feel of the car over the standard dogbone mount.
He charges approx. £50 per hour I think but that is the usual going rate for a decent garage.
Let him know you have spoken to me and he might just get it in for a look first and if it needs any work he will give you a quote. Not too far over the bridge to Devon either :)

Has owned many Renaults in his time (Andy) and has done numerous cam belts on some of the local 17/182's. Formerly into his Renault 5 turbos but owned a 320bhp Clio Turbo so knows what he is doing. Have trusted him to...
Can confirm that both of these FEBI parts are exact matching parts for original Renault items.
Bizarrely the inner bushes were sourced from Ebay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Anti-roll...211658?hash=item4661e6934a:g:confused:kAAAOSwWxNY15oL) but they are 23.5mm internal diameter and not 25mm as...
So after solid exhaust mounts, new centre mount, new donut gasket between cat and manifold, new cat and weld mod to match exhaust diameter, engine mounts, Evol dogbone mount and all hestshield clips the rattle continued until.....replacement Janspeed centre section.
Went for the unsilenced...
Is the most cost effective solution to just replace the lower arms or can the bushes be purchased easily enough?
I am aware the ball joints can be replaced as I have had Lemforder ones before and recall them being M12 size over M10.
If I can buy the bushes can anyone confirm which ones I need...
I have had mine near on 8 years and still find excuses to drive my round the block or to the local shops, absolutely love driving the bloody thing, even when it makes the usual French car rattles, knocks and squeaks!
Splitting a Trophy in spares for one that is not even considered for repair would fetch a decent return. How much did the insurers knock off for retaining the salvage?
Remember buying a Citroen AX GT5 many, many years ago that had been sat around for a very long period of it's life albeit I bought the car for the personalised plate 'A5 XGT'.
This out of many cars I have owned over the years had pretty much everything needing replacement due to seizure or...
