I think I paid something along the lines of £7k for the car in 2009 so haven't done bad, and even then it had covered 14,000 miles so was a very reasonably priced car.
The service history is another thing again, I think I have spent in excess of £10k in servicing, worn parts over the near on 8...
I am the second owner from new and know the former keeper so am on the hunt for the original invoice of sale. I do however have a nice collection of some of the original items and am OCD to the point I have kept every tax disc and MOT.....how sad!
Think I still have the disposable...
I would, my mechanic said the water pump was 'noisy' as well as the dephaser, so he just did it anyway. Easy way for a quick coolant change at the same time.
Great thanks.
Wasn't there the risk of the 2 13mm bolts falling down? My hands will not be small enough to hold one of them in place I can imagine, or does it give more room when the gearbox drops as you have mentioned?
I have decided to replace this mount myself and taken the battery out today for a 'dry run' so to speak.
If I loosen the centre 18mm bolt and leave the mount in place with the 2 bolts (13mm I think) can I just remove the battery tray and gearbox mount together but leave the spider bracket? Or...
Managed to obtain a genuine top engine mount from a Twingo RS locally on Ebay which has covered around 8,000 miles, once I remove the old one will report back on the condition of old vs new. The kangoo Febi mount is actually the same part number as the one for the Twingo RS so hoping the genuine...
Could also do with this, thinking of replacing my silenced Janspeed centre section with a decent stainless steel mid section as have a feeling this is causing my rattle.
Any idea if this is the correct 'OEM' dogbone?

Surprised this kit didn't attract more attention, ive fitted near enough all of the components above and the joint is so much stronger and saves having to continually replace with the full kit. Top work and appreciate all the advice ;)
Got the shield off last night relatively easily and it was an 11mm nut and 14mm nut, no doubt from when I had an oil change a while ago.
The replacement nuts are 10mm with a washer attached, all fitted back correctly.
A 15mm nut has been put on the thread on the side that is spinning, the actual head of the bolt is not rounded it just seems to spin and not come off, but as per optical the socket may be too big to fit in and remove.
Will have to have a play around later in the week, I have ordered a new set of the bolts and nuts to put back to original but have a feeling this is the cause of my rattling / vibration and the shield seems to loosen up at different temperatures. Thanks for the help as ever ;)
Can anyone help with any suggestions of removal when one of the nuts is spinning but not coming off? Can they be removed with an air gun fairly easily?
After having the new cat fitted the car runs and pulls nicely bit still have this intermittent rattle / vibration!
I have noticed one of the cat to manifold springs is loser on one side, the kit wasn't replaced that long ago but could this be a possible cause?
Yes I have replaced my mounts as in the rubber piece, but there is a bolt that usually bolts on the exhaust rod which goes through the centre of the rubber as shown in this pic....
Ideal.
One other thing, the original holding bolts are not long enough to reach through the mount, do you know if longer ones are needed or can they be left off?
Common problem but I had a genuine kit fitted last year and the springs look good and tight. Still it'll all be off tomorrow for the new cat and retightened and checked for any leaks. A new cat probably isn't needed but may as well get it on given its brand spanking.
I managed to source a new cat going on tomorrow with the cat mod to match the 2.25" mid section, but after a day of tinkering yesterday the noise has gone. I can put it down to a clip which holds 2 heat Shields together, or a bolt which was loose in the throttle bottle, very odd!
