Thanks for replies I'll get some wire n do it. Can't plug it in as not removed old spoiler yet, just wanted to check before fitting in case it didn't work.

How can I test high level brake light BEFORE fitting? Can I just connect it to car battery? Sorry if seems a dim question but electrics n me don't mix well and I don't wanna blow it up :-(

Damn, forgot my sticker! Is it one that goes on inside or out? My rears tinted so inside no good...

This may/may not help as Ph1 only has 1 pump but there's a repair guide on here. Involves dismantling pump and cutting thin slice of rubber off a plunger. Real easy to do and works brilliantly on a pump u can hear running but doesn't pump water. May be worth a look...

4 new tyres and 3 of the centre caps broke Anyone know what size for a Ph1 with standard OZs please? And are the ones on EBay worth gettin or will the break soon as fitted?

Yep, cheapest n logical, that's bout where I'd got to. Had this happen on my cossie n it was head gasket, really hope these aren't the same cos that'll b the end of my 172, can't afford that

My expansion tank hisses when engine warmed up. Anyone had this? Does the cap need replacing or is this something more ominous?

When I run my 172 up to temp then turn it off my expansion tank hisses! Is this normal, do I just need to replace the cap or is it an ominous sign ??
