Test Cup spoiler brake light

How can I test high level brake light BEFORE fitting?
Can I just connect it to car battery?
Sorry if seems a dim question but electrics n me don't mix well and I don't wanna blow it up :-(

Thanks for replies I'll get some wire n do it.
Can't plug it in as not removed old spoiler yet, just wanted to check before fitting in case it didn't work.

As replies hooked up to battery, no smoke or flames!
All LEDs ok so now can fit spoiler
