I was going to say just this. Depending on how much of the undertray you have still in place it really does come down to the two side bolts and a quick tug doesn't it??

There will be some play in drop links, though they're not the same as the one's that link to the shock struts. Got the same issue on a 1.2 that was cured by the little links being changed... have a look at what you have on there, it may be fine, but you may see the rubber is knackered...

Have you checked the spring as above? I know you're saying they were done recently but you never know... Also have you checked the drop links??

It's not impossible to do it well with cans. However it's all about the prep and all about taking your time. Otherwise it will never look anywhere near right. Have a read of the thread already mentioned above and see if you think it would be something you can do after reading it.....
