Most boring looking car I have ever had. Great to drive though. This was back in the era where nobody wanted to do hot hatches. Look at what Ford & Vauxhall were knocking out in 97.
My user name is taken from this period as loads of HDI's that looked the same and run out models with same body...
It depends on whether a Trophy picks up that classic status and a bit of supply & demand I guess. The limited numbers will help. But then the Williams has not held up that well.
I used to have an E30 M3 about 6 years ago and now ALL E36 M3's are worth less than E30's and some E46's. These cars...
Nice cars my wife came from a VRS to a 182.
Still think about going back. All that torque suits her driving style more. Shange up early & surf that torque.
There isn't that much difference in running cost to be fair. Economys a bit better but diesel is more expensive. Her fuel computer was...
I had a burn in mine today the first proper time I opened it up in 2-3 Weeks.
My normal jorney is 3-4 miles into work in stop start diving.
Totay I was taking it to over 6k in 2 & 3rd coming off a few roundabouts.
At the 5.5k Kick the back of my car was engulfed in steam & my rear screen...
Was just coming home frome thre dentists realing from the £400 it was going to cost.
Lack of concentration and I nudged a kerb. Another £150 I thought thats all I need.
Cracked the splitter in 2 placed as it was nudged back. The Cracks are 75% of the thickness of the splitter.
I popped it...
Oh yes and I have two. What more of a recomendation do you need.
One was bought on the "if I could pick any car to have fun in it at any cost"
The other for an economical commuter for 50 mile daily round trip.
As I said Clio 182 does both very well.
Yes great cars.
I have owned some quick cars but the Clio ticks all boxes.
Its great out of the box there are not many things you can or need to change. Like some cars need 2 or 3 mods to bring out there best.
Great on Fuel too.
One downside is the rattles as mentioned. But other cars do...
I average around 33 mpg in mine and the wife is getting around 40 mpg in hers as she has longer journeys.
Other cars she has done the same communte in are:
Fiesta 1.4 16v - 40 mpg
Polo 1.6 GTI - 40 mpg
Ford SportKa 1.6 8v- 38 mpg
Fabia VRS - 51 mpg
For a 2 litre petrol its astonishing...
Yep they are in freefall.
I paid £9500 7 months ago for a 17K car.
Thought i was doing well as there were not many under £10k at the time.
Then the credit crunch.......
Look on the bright side everything else is in freefall to not just Clio's.
Wait till people start paying £400+ for...
My wifes 182 clutch is alot stiffer than my Trophys
had a GTI-6 a few years back and this was a common problem as cable dried out next to exhaust. Replaced cable and hey presto light cluch. (Started to stiffen up about a year later)
Trophy. Get one while they are still good.
When the expensive sachs suspension kit packs up lower it with your uprated kit (and sell the original ones or get refurbed & sell)
I was there also and saw one just by the track edge just along from the Seatcupra meet.
Also a blue 182 a little back from the track about 100m and a RS 172 or 182 with black wheels about the same area.
I left my Trophy at home & got a lift with a mate.
There were loads of yellow Megane...
BP had a stand a Goodwood last year. (I picked up loads of free key rings & stickers etc)
They had a 911 Turbo on the rollers and two different fuel lines running into it and kept switching fuel.
I seem to recall another 50 bhp on 102. So about 10% on a big power turbo. This is a 7 octane...
How many different colours are there?
Just got another wheel on my 182 and the insert looks silver compared to my original titanium colour.
So I guess there must be...
Blue (on Cups)
Silver
Titanium
Yes I used AutoGlym Combo on my Trophy at the weekend and it looks stunning.
But even on the Trophy the fine scratches on the bonnet (that are even more visible in my Garage under tube light) are still there.
Black Gold is more so. Have never used a machine polisher or a cutting compound...
My wife keeps buying Black cars (now a 182 BlackGold metalic) and they show up minor scratching the worst.
Generally much improved by a polish but as it wears of the light scratches come back.
When we bought the car it ahd just been cleaned & he told me what with (but I forgot) I think it...
Two clio's an 05 182 on 31k and a 55 Trophy on 20k.
Both are 'melted' on rhs. Thumbgrips OK.
If anything the newer lower mileage Trophy is the worst.
Trophy still under warranty so may give it a go.
Got an address for custiomer service? I like to write stroppy letters people have to answer.
As me & the wife both have 182s a BG & a Trophy.
We had a mini-photoshoot just after buying.
I have now dedicated our best photo of the pics to canvas.
Must say I'm very pleased.
Doubtless I could have saved a few more £ off with surfing.
It was a 30" x 40" Canvas for £90. Delivered in...
When I bought my Wifes 182 we drove back in convoy about 100 miles.
As it was a new car & she drives like a girl we both saw an identical 41 mpg on that run back. (182 & Trophy)
Since owning the cars for a while I average 31ish with most of my driving for fun or around town.
She averages...
What should this look like?
Any pics?
The chap at Reno wanted my reg as he said they changed.
The one I put on was metal with a small rubber lip that only pushed on the base of the plug.
The one I took off looked like it had more rubber and was tight against the thread of the sump plug...
Bought a trophy for my wife 3 months ago ( so I could have it without selling my car)
Then sold my car and my wifes original car in the same weekend.
I then took control of the trophy. As my wife liked it so much I got a Black Gold FF.
To be fair the FF is probably the better car 99% of...
