That Grey 200 looks quite modded. Sits very Low. Did Yellow Dot Recaro's come with white headrest rear seats? Maybe retrofitted which is no bad thing but seller makes quite a bit about there rarity. Quite a bit of Engine work there. Not sure NA responds that well to tuning? Others can comment...
Hope it goes well and heals quickly.
Looks to be a low miles 172 Cup coming up on Collecting Cars. No where as clean as yours underbonnet. Worth a watch to see what it makes.
To be fair I just gave you an update on Clio's.
Had 182, Trophy,197 Cup, 200 Cup Pack, R26 Lux and now a 275 Cup-S.
All were daily's although Trophy was only Clio I drove to Scotland ( 550 miles each way)
Had each of the Clios for a year. R26 for 5 years and just over 5 for the Cup-S. So Meg...
I saw you were after the Blue 200 Cup on Collecting Cars.
182 are lighter hence feel torquier but older and parts getting more difficult.
200 are newer (but still old). Weight means you need to chase the redline.
With the 200. Most people seem to like Full Fat ( Non Cup) with Cup Packs and...
As said above it was only you and one other in the bidding.
So you did the OP a favour by getting the price up to a point he was willing to sell. I noted a 'No Reserve' box appeared near the end of the bidding. And no last minute surge in bids which is unusual.
Gordini & 200 Cup opposites...
Most of the time I have bought rare nice cars as I thought I may get them as depreciation slows or they start to appreciate slowly.
Meaning I get a nice car and main cost of motoring (depreciation) is minimised.
But now it seems anything that is on the cusp of turning just takes off so if you...
Same 2 bidder's from £8700 to £13500.
Just shows you need 2 people to want something badly to get you anyplace.
If any of them is reading this thread the trade valuation of £13500 no doubt gives some confidence.
Best of Luck.
I got pretty invested in watching this.
Not sure if its because I want to see if the OP beat the trade value of £13.5k he had from a dealer?
Let the market decide!
It is mad. We all chase the best example we can get. Then when we do we don't want to drive it, get it wet, dirty. park it in a Car Park. It ceases to fulfil what we got it for.
And forget its 'just' a Clio.
This one was stunning (as new) on Collecting Cars a few months back. You just got to wait it out. People love these cars & spend big £ then move them on for a fraction of what has been spent.

See the latest Late Brake with another Mk2 Escort... with 350bhp from 2.7litre 4 cylinder.
Love it.
He does have a habit of getting these cars when its pouring rain ( He mentions it)
Just saw that advert on CC. Nice Car no doubt.
tbh I had not twigged that it had Zero History till I read the description. Used then Parked up. No MOT or Service till this year.
If It does not sell for what you want I would keep it for a year and put a couple of Thousand miles on it & get it...
Good Luck with the sale.
Nice to test the price point on these car.
Especially a normalish one that is not a press car or been part of Renault Heritage Fleet.
Sorry to hear.
If someone got deep pockets and garage space and its as nice as you say would go at any time.
No harm now in trying for a higher price & if needs must you can always lower it later. (or keep if situation improves)
I know what you mean. AG on the Clio looks flat but really pops when sun hits it. The Focus looks amazing all the time. Guess more of a Pearlescent. Great to have a special car in a special car specific colour.
I see they use the Mean Green for new Fiesta which is good but would be behind the...
Bit of an oldy. But I see it Most days parked down the road. Sharing as:
1. Its nice to have a bit of colour. ( Meg is Mine)
2. Its driven by a lady Carer in a Nursing home the has had for years and is her daily instead of being locked up for sunshine.
I remember seeing road-tests in late 00's...
I got it sight unseen from 1st owner who I had got a mint 197 Cup from a year before. So happy to buy without seeing. He moved onto a Meg 250. Then we sold for a Z3M otherwise would have been a keeper.
Only issue when we had was a weird dent in the roof. Sure sorted by now.
Great car.
I think that's my old car. Wife's car had for 6m in 2012 before a Z3M Coupe drove past & turned our head....
All my old photos with Show Plates.
If there is a MPG Graph in the Service History I did that.
Credit to you that it looks the same....
All stuff from 80's seem to have gone mad recently.
Clio's are at the phase where the attrition of them being tracked & used is killing the numbers. Everything has to dip before it comes back. I actually think the recent inflation on Clio values has been more Covid related rather than them...
You could try Collecting Cars. The AG Press Car got quite a bit of interest & made strong money as did the Renault Heritage Fleet. There condition perhaps not as good but some provenance. Couple of 182's & Trophy's have went for less than I would have expected.
Depends how much effort you want...
Took my Cup 2's off my Megane & sold them. Replaced with PS4s. Much better for general on road stuff & more tread. (Although I don't do many miles rubber gets old before it gets worn out especially on rear)
I had heard about Cup 2 being the go to tyre but its horses for courses.
Recent Evo...
I came out of a Trophy into one and had it back to back with 197/200 for a few years. That was years ago mind got the R26 when was 9m old. Put a Stage 1 map once off warranty.
Great all rounder.
Loads of Torque makes you drive it on the mid range I find bit like a diesel.
Got a 275 now. Bit...
Wheels are lovely on this also. UK wheels especially on the 330s were ugly.
I remember one car I looked at had a red film over the rear clear lights. That looked really good.
All the best with this.
I am sure these saw some time on my Trophy via BG Motorsport & EMS. Many thanks for the loan (must be 10 years ago) Steve.
Been back at EMS this year as I am back in a Renault that just dropped out of warranty.
