This is so close I would be mad not to show my face. Providing I don't have a newly fitted kitchen that needs painting.

But not in the wet.....
Seriously interesting budget tyre review online showing wet handling & braking for tyres that only save a few £ compared to branded.
Worth looking at the age markers. Any rubber likes to flex a bit so old rubber can get pretty rigid. Hence the cracks. Some people say 5...
This is std formula for nice modifiable cars that sold well. As opposite to nice cars that were rare.
Get Modded, Get Tracked or Crashed, Numbers Drop. Values Climb. Get stored & driven on nice days by old dudes.
Clio 182 Lifecycle. ST just needs another 10 years.
I imagine a 200 bhp 1100kg Fiesta is not far off the pace of a Meg 275 with 275 bhp and 1400kg.
Power to weight down a little but torque to weight probably bang on.
Definitely a factor and they were still making mk7 ST out to 2017 whereas Clio 200 done by 2013.
Always considering Fiesta ST. Originally I was Mk7 and had a look at an ST200 4 years ago ( probably less £ than it would ne now). But now I look at Mk8 Perfomance Edition for around £20-22k. But...
No one said it was easy.
Try getting a Megane RS its no better. Cup-S was sold for a year and only 100 sold. Its laughable how limited they were. Ford probably knocked out a couple of thousand focus RS in same period.
mmm. Still struggling a bit both of those ones look good.
As well as wiping on trim I have been using with a detailing brush on grills. Brush on & let dry.
Both the G-Techniq and CarPro look more tricky for areas like this.
Was looking at this.
Does it just put a protective coat or does it blacken it?
I use Autoglym stuff which goes on easy & gives the look I want but pretty much need to reapply after ever wash.
I just want something to easily wipe on but last a little longer. Maybe a couple of months.
Coming the other way at Crossbush.
Big waves to me in my Yellow Megane.
Was off to Goodwood to watch some of a time trial sprint at the track. Only downside was muddy field to park in.
Thanks for that. Not many people pulling plugs at low miles to comment.
Seems to be running sweet. Although intermittent misfire that I started this post with was really intermittent so if that was something else may still rear its head.
I got them to put on new coils at the same time as the...
My Misfire thread. Was plugs and they had recently been changed. Single cracked plug. Did not happen immediately. Mild & intermittent initially couple of months after plugs.
Looks like you have multiple cylinders though.
Plug number matches the OEM ones on RPD. But that could be either way either originals or replacement set. No date makers?
Option 1 - They did not change & I started having problems on an untouched plug at 20k that did not need changing for another 20k. On a standard car that is driven gently...
To be honest I am not that Mechanically minded. And I am changing stuff so much earlier than service intervals (miles) that most of the time it probably don't look worn.
Right then after a few months of tiny hic-up every couple of weeks. Finally started misfiring badly about a week ago. Threw up a fault code on misfire on cylinder 2.
So took to local mechanic not one that serviced it last. Had a cracked plug.
They were suggesting to me that they don't think...
Saw one of those Mk3 RS Red Edition.
Looked good in Red. Not worth the premium.
Nice to see someone using in winter months. Although looked showroom clean.
I was going to get some goodyear 6 as seem to win tyre reviews for MX5 but this thread has put me off.
Had the skipping really bad on Megane when on Cup 2's. Went away with PS4s. But still does again occasionally on tight turns in the wet.
Perhaps its just with compound getting harder less...
I used G Technique Tri-Clean. Gave a ovely Matt finish then there leather Guard.
Used on Black and on cream leather where it took out a blue-jean stain.
Years ago I just used to use the Autoglym stuff without any cleaning on many cars. Never realised leather was supposed to be Matt. Thought...
Interestingly with Ohlin's I think BBR fit a custom spring and quote a 35mm drop. Whereas other suppliers quote a range with upper end of that 5-10mm drop. So pretty much zero. So get the benefit of improved damping/roll without the drop. Everything else seems to give you drop.
My Megane Cup-S...
I have this thing of buying cars for my wifes daily that I want to own. The MX5 is her daily. Although garaged most of the time & does 4-5k a year.
As such she is not big at revving cars. Her Fabia VRS from near 20 years ago was probably best fit.
But she likes the look bit so have managed to...
Interestingly my Neighbour s ( in there late 60's) just scrapped a yellow W Reg Compact they had since new.
My other Neighbour in there 80's has a E30 316 Auto in a brown/bronze that they have had since new.
And I complete your car ownership trilogy with my MX5.
Really enjoyed reading through this thread.
Got the wife a mint/low miles 25th Anniversary last year. With a view to doing some BBR bits.
Probably start with the 180 kit (Manifold & Remap) for a bit more torque and noise.
See how it goes as manifold is first step on road to there new...
No sure posted before but you see the acceleration times on new M240i with same B58, More Weight but a smart X Drive.
Getting 3.6 sec 0-60 and 9 Sec 0-100.
That is proper super car pace from a few years ago on std power when you can hook it up.
I have noticed recently when I put my foot down I get a stutter at 4-5k revs.
It seems to be more under hard throttle with sport button pushed. Although have only experienced 2-3 times.
Now the car is a Megane 275. 6 years old. 22k miles. Just had service about 2 months/3k ago with Cambelt...
Thanks. Thought there would be more opinions as people are using Clios as second cars doing less miles. Unless they all been used on track for a couple of track days to kill them.
I think I will change.
Any thoughts on whether worth selling the old ones?
