So I had the olive joint cut out and welded today..... still makes the noise.
I have a genuine Renault cat to manifold gasket kit brand new fitted and new clamps on the cat to midpipe sleeve and midpipe to back box sleeve.
One of these 3 is still causing the problem as whenever I play around...
To the silver 182 who tooted me at about 3pm on Beachy head! Didn't catch the reg.... honestly didn't even see you until I looked in the mirror!

Ktec 2.25 resonated. All new gaskets and clamps put on to try and trace down noises with no avail! The exhaust itself is very quiet once going, even at full chat. Most of the noise comes from the intake.

The car has decided that its going to resonate really badly at idle and anything under 1100rpm.
As soon as I dip the throttle it's fine and dandy!
I have polybushed dogbone mount, steering rack and anti roll bars and standard engine mounts.
It's so bad its headache...
Definitely not either side of the cat joints as they are sealed solid now. Checked over each component for cracks etc but can't see anything obvious.
I can't say I can be bothered to remove the manifold and replace a gasket there. Doesn't sound like it's that far up either tbh.

I've done lots of searching but to no avail. Ever since buying the car there has been what I assume is an exhaust noise.
I have standard cat and K-tec 2.25 inch catback
From 2.75k rpm up there is a whistle almost rasp (not the good kind) more prominent with harder throttle.

I've got what I think is the older K-tec (Janspeed) system. The midpipe has the slip joint onto olive piece for the cat. What decat can I use with this? I've noticed a lot are specific for each system.

Its got a cliosport sticker and been to Clioman for work which is good. Looks nice but obviously a high miler with a sketchy MOT history. Seems legit but wondered if anyone had owned it, knew who does etc

Right....assuming it's not a complete minger, Full service, belts to be done at Clioman or Ren7oaks. Full clean and valet. Cooksport springs, cup dampers, spacers etc. Any other important bits to check it essential mods? Purely road use at the moment.

Yep. Apparently the belts were done last year but theres no paperwork so I'm going to give it a full service and work over and take it to The Clioman probably for belts and dephaser etc.
I see it as a bit of a Lego car. Parts are so plentiful and cheap that whatever breaks or falls off I can...
The last 3 MOT's have been clean which is the only bonus. Parts are so plentiful and so cheap I'm not too concerned. Worst case scenario I can break it for parts and break even.
