Looking @ a R26, been considering one for a while but then again i'd like to get away from a Reno just for a change!
Also considering a Golf ED30 or dare i say a Corsa VXR! quite like 'em.
Any computer whizzkids out there who can help me pretty please!
I'm trying to do a clean install of WinXP but my drive aint working at all, ejects and that's it.
There is no sign of it in device manager either, im very confused.
It's a Fujitsu amilo laptop if that makes a difference...
I'd say it deffo is 99% certain the car is revving i hear and feel it through my right foot, as to the speed increasing or not, it's hard to say as it barely lasts long enough to notice. I would say though, it seems as though the car takes over for that split sec.
New clutch is it if it's due...
Any revs and any speed! very strange, although not in 1st gear i have noticed.
I can be cruising in say 2nd gear or 3rd then boot it to the floor and it will rev on it's own for a sec then carry on as before.
I would take it in but it's out of warrenty - just, only done 20k aswell.
when i boot it and put my foot on the gas - all the way to the floor it then suddenly revs up on it's own WTF!! only does it now and again for half a sec or so but it's beginning to annoy me now.
Any ideas?
Cheers.
I'd just like to make sure about this point as i've just read this on another forum.
Here's the quote.
"Rub over the entire front face of the wheel... including every single nook and cranny with the 240 grit wet and dry paper. You will notice when and area is 'ready' as the surface will...
Defo put pics up when done. Just put the 1st coat of primer on looks good already!
I did cover the centre up with cardboard aswell but i dont remember why, is it something to do with the wheel nuts possibly coming loose? i read something somewhere!!
MRBILLYUK, confession time... i am using that as my main guide, saved and printed out next to me!
Ok so i would only need to sand down the kerbed/scratched areas? no need to take all the paint off even though i will be completely priming and painting the whole wheel.
I am a bit thick...
There are no scratches, it's very very smooth at the mo just taking absolutely ages to do.
Nitro-mors is tempting but think i'll give that a miss! I've got an orbital sander but water and electric dont mix.
Decided to refurb my 182 alloys myself but now wishing i hadnt lol!
Got a few questions. Firstly, it has took me about 30mins just to wetsand this using 280 grit, do you have to 100% get every last bit of the old paint off?? taking me ages!!!
Here's a pic:
I've looked a the...
Me and my Mrs went to a dealers to have a look at one. They only had a red one in and that was the managers! hmm, i'm a bit embarrassed to say but i quite liked the look of it! and that's coming from me who i thought had a bit of style!!
I must say in my defence i will probably end up with a...
Interesting read this!
I'm trying to refit my standard splitter after a little bit decided to break off! what a pain in the a$$! i tried a pair of ramps thinking no probs as my Mrs's Ka went up no probs but the bumper is way too low on mine.
I'll have to find a cliff i can park over lol!!
Sorry if i missed it, but what EXACTLY does this cure problem wise?
I have a grinding noise when i hit full lock - left and right and it is maybe getting booked into Renault next week for their fix.
I'm just wondering if it solves this or does it solve a completly different knock?
One...
Took my car to the local stealers the other day about the well known knocking on full lock issue and i was told it has to go into the bodyshop - nearest one being Manchester.
Just wondering guys how long this takes? the bloke in the local Renault didnt have a clue when i asked him, also is it...
...this!
What you reckon, good trade!!
My Mrs quite likes it! and i think it isnt too bad a drive actually!! the blind spots are shocking though and the steering is unbelievably light i thought, soaks the speed bumps up though when i thrash over them :)
Yes it is however how many people on here try and avoid taking their car in to some numb nuts in Reno, i'd say most if humanly possible.
Took mine in in the past and it's come back with other niggles not noticed when it went in, they are a joke.
Right guys need your expertise on this one.
When i reverse out of my drive, steering full lock either direction i hear a very loud crunching/knocking noise, sounds like it comes from the wheel area - even my Mrs heard it standing at the front door!! and the car like shakes!
It really...
