F4Rs don't really like being opened up. As Harv says, Ford Duratec or Zetec or Vaux XE are the engines that seem to take being opened up and altered pretty well.

Yes mate, might go up a class in hillclimbing. Just toying with a few ideas and the better half suggested this. With other things going on at the moment, this may end up making the best sense.

BCs for me too. Handle speed bumps well enough and good on track. I'm in my 40s too so have to have it pretty comfy.

Having done both circuit and hillclimbs, I'm concentrating on the hills next year. Competing in Roadgoing, I drive to the events and am setup and ready within 15 minutes of arriving. There are plenty of others there who would be happy to help if you had an issue. My skills stop at general...

David I can answer those for you... Seat doesn't have to be "In date" for just UK MSA events, only if an FIA event which you'll only really get abroad. Helmet has to be Snell approved with Hans posts as you do need a HANS device as per blue book. So that is really £400 + for both together...

Nigel at AVO specced them to my requirements so they are circuit based. 500 front, 550 rear I think of the top of my head.
