Re: Third Time Lucky; Trophy #41 - UPDATED (finally)
How are the front dampers holding up mate? I want mine doing them by cornering force but can't have the car off the road for weeks on end
Is it possible to just get powdercoated wheel bolts? I want some black ones for my trophy, dont like the tpi ones they look a little tacky IMO and don't go well with a normal wheel colour
The first 6 trophies were press cars, one of which was bought by harry metcalfe of Evo magazine.
I wouldn't want to have any of the press cars due to them being 'tested' by an all manor of idiots.
check out cliotrophy.co.uk it will allow you to track the history of most examples, sometimes...
How about a 500bhp trophy with 30,000 miles on the clocks?
Keep your eyes out because it will be completed soon and you'll most likely all have a new favourite trophy ;)
Thanks for all the comments.
I can't really give a direct comparison for standard vs cooksports as I dont think my sachs are 100% as they should be and I'm running adjustable rear shocks. What I would say is there has been no ride compromise between standard and cooksports.
I haven't had time...
Glad you took it the right way, I know exactly why you did it as it's good to be the first to have something done and it looks great....until everyone else gets it and it becomes so common its annoying ;).
I think it could just do with toning down, plus you'll get some money back in the kitty ;)
Not from my own experience of renault gearbox's but you may be pleasently suprised, you never know with these unpredictable french boxes
It could also be a problem with the selector, a friend bought a cup with what we thought was a dodgy gearbox, turned out to be a bush/pin/clip that had failed...
Looks great Dr.....I'm not a fan of the carbon anymore though, the interior hurts my eyes :( I think if it had the dash strips, gear insert, steering wheel insert and dial surrounds it would be nice and subtle, the other stuff just seems a bit 'In yo face' and trying a bit too hard....just my...
Thanks Keith, I absolutely love your trophy.
It's riding on cooksport springs and know you were interested to see how they sat. I was thinking of getting some eibach rear springs but looking around I think I prefer it as it is
Thanks for all the kind comments guys, next on my to do list is get my door handles painted and maybe some willwood 4 pots to keep me safe in all situations
Good to see some club spirit from Chip.
I haven't really followed this thread, but decided to check in just to ask how reliable it had been. Has the clutch going got anything to do with the manor in which you drive it now its boosted? I mean if you drove it normally with the occasional full...
I dont believe it is very fast....therefore you must supply video's to prove me wrong ;)
Just kidding, looking very nice as usual Mr.RG and a very good advertisement for your new car tuning business :)
p.s is that you using your neighbours water instead of your own...tight arse lol
Had some spare time today so what better than to take the trophy out for a few pics
Sadly my picture taking skills aren't fantastic and I Don't do all of this photoshop business to make the pics look better, although I wouldn't mind finding out how to do it.
Sorry there's...
You'll grow up one day haha, pointless having something track prepped that never see's the track, it just becomes annoying, especially when it rains heavy and the noise coming through the roof.
I'll have some pics of the OLD bg for you shortly if you want to see them ;)
It's fun watching all of you trying to keep up with a 100bhp saxo and failing miserably :)
In all seriousness, we all love keeping our cars cleaned/detailed, however it's pointless having a car built for b roads and not making the most of it, especially on some of the best roads this country...
I know mate, I hate removing badges as I find it a pain to put them back on, really the main thing that bugs me is that small area between the rear wiper and boot button surround, I know I'm just being Anal but thats the name of the game with this sort of thing
Sorry I should've said, I've paint corrected around 20 clio sports now and always struggle with the areas I mentioned to get an absolutely perfect finish with no marks left in the paint and without spending too much time on them.
I do have a small backing pad and a couple of spot pads, however...
This is something I've always wondered how people seem to manage without problems, however I just find it a general PITA.
So things I'm talking about is:
around badges without removing them
Tailgate on clio between wiper and boot handle surround
Clio Rear bumper where insert is
Clio Front...
