haha! It's a bit of a nightmare finding polarised bits.
Actually, originally, my RS2 was going to have purple anodised bolts (to look a bit like the polarised items). I think the subtle silver bolts work really well though. :)
Thanks. Spraying it was super cheap and made such a...
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
The battery has been pretty grubby since I bought it. I think it had been left in a dusty warehouse for a while.
It's cleaned up pretty well though, I think. :)
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Shiny new oil filler cap on route, courtesy of Tom at Wests. Should make a welcome replacement for the dirty looking original one! :)
Have a few bits on order from streamline carbon too; front diamond, front splitter, fog light surrounds and...
Engine mount bolts finished, with the second coat happily drying :)
Much better! ;)
And, a close up shot of the crackle finish.
That'll do me for today! :o

Engine mount with second coat happily drying :)
Much better! ;)

Hmmm I've not particularly noticed my gearbox; it's a bit grubby, but the gap is fairly well hidden with the hoses, so it's not too obvious. :)
No problem. :)
I've given the upper engine mount bolts a first coat of paint; they look much better already. In a couple of hours I've give...
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
I hadn't thought about doing the TB, would be good! It seems more effort taking it off though haha! I'll probably just leave it as it is! :o
As Silent_Scone says, it's most likely the different upper engine mount (vibratechnics); they appear...
Thanks! I'm glad I went for the black finish now, as it goes well with the intake and hoses. :) Before starting, I wasn't sure if it would look too black! haha!
It's had a couple of heavy coats; it seems to have taken pretty well.
The paint was from Frost ART; Dave used the red version on his engine, which is where I got the link from. :)

Removed the coil pack mount, leads, etc. But masked around and covered everything else.
I'll hopefully...
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Thanks for the comments! :)
I've just done the top really; just enough to give it the stealthy look. :rasp:
They're Yoko AD08's :)
Rocker cover now sprayed in crackle black! Looks so much better than the dirty greasy unfinished look! ;)
Very happy with the results. :D
So, yesterday followed by today;

Finished and back together! Looks so much better than the dirty greasy unfinished look! ;)

Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
I'd have a bailey or forge header tank if they were the same finish as the catch tank, rather than the polished finish they come in. :(
The nimbus heat shield is actually sitting next to me. ;) Spraying the engine tomorrow morning, so...
There's no real need for me to relocate the battery; I considered it a while ago, but decided against it. Although it would give a little more space in the bay, it's pretty good as it is. :)
I bought it as part of the group buy, which has now ended.
I think the normal kit prices are still...
As I've had another attempt at cleaning the rocker cover this afternoon, I have some more photos to share. :o
It looks much better now a lot of the grease and dirt has been removed; should be about ready for painting now. :D
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
On a lighter note, I have a few more photos to share. :o
I think the rocker cover looks much improved now I've had another go at cleaning it; should be clean enough to get spraying now, I would think.
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
I'd be interested to know whether you've had the same thing happen.
I don't think I'll send it back, as I don't have another mount to use on the car if this one is removed. :(
I'll contact Prima and email them the photo, see what they...
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Ah and while I remember, I found an issue with the Prima Racing uprated exhaust mount earlier! Really disappointed with it! :dapprove:
While sorting a slight blow on the exhaust, it was discovered that the Prima mount (after only being on a...
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Thanks! Me too! :D
haha! :rasp:
I was thinking of just starting the engine and letting it sit idle for a little while. :)
Thanks! :)
Sadly, no videos yet. I'm thinking of buying a go pro motorsport, so lots of videos would follow if I...
