Other than my stunning collection of dents in the passenger side rear quarter :rasp: haha! I really must get them sorted, they've been bugging me for months! :o
I'm looking forward to pressing on with the mapping; any news on the results of the calibration for RS2 and 428's? I'm assuming Tom...
The outside :)
There's a few photos in this thread; http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?586025-Ollie-s-172-Cup...-cause-silver-can-still-be-cool.&highlight= :)
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Originally, the cams were due to be fitted at the same time as the RS2.
However, there's currently another car in the process of having that setup calibrated; iirc it already had 428's fitted, then added an RS2.
After discussing with...

Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
hmmm I still think it will be changed for something less intrusive. Sometimes it would be nice to have a nice quiet drive without the loud exhaust note. :)
Thanks, mate! :D
To be honest, if Tom decided to run another group buy it's well worth getting involved.
It turned out the payments were actually spread over a few months throughout the manufacture/build. :)
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
We're holding fire on mapping for the time being.
Once it's been established whether it's worthwhile going to the expense of putting the cams in too (depending on the results of some calibration work) that'll be sorted and the mapping will...
The 428 cams haven't been fitted yet, just the RS2; I'm waiting for the results of calibration work regarding running the RS2 and 428 cams, before deciding on what to do about them. :)
But yes, I'd highly recommend the RS2. I'm seriously impressed by how it's transformed the car.
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
It's been on the cards to go for a while actually.
I love how it sounds when giving it some, but, sadly that doesn't make up for how it drones on the motorway.
It never used to bother me, but I think as I'm growing up a bit, I'd sooner go...
Not really, I'm surprised at how well it's running unmapped. :)
I was expecting it to be really unrefined on the standard map, but it's actually not a problem at all. Still, I'm looking forward to seeing how it will feel when properly mapped.
Surprisingly, I actually averaged a higher MPG on...
Thanks for the kind comments!
Mapping isn't booked yet; waiting to see the best course of action to take regards the 428 cams before proceeding with mapping.
It's a standard sized battery. Just a Bosch S5. :)
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Thanks for the comments! I'm very pleased with it; I think Tom and James have done a great job. :)
I'm hoping to get the painting (and the fitting of the nimbus heatshield) done sooner rather than later; in time for CSS would be a bonus. ;)...
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
I think I'll be going with the crackle black; I feel it'll go better with the black hoses and colour scheme on the RS2. :)
Hopefully I'll get this sorted before CSS. The rocker cover actually looks more dirty in the photos than in real life...
Copied this from what I've just written in my project thread; thought other people may be interested in seeing the RS2 on the car. :)
I've now driven a good couple of hundred miles with the RS2 fitted and think it's absolutely brilliant. I'm hugely impressed; particularly when considering...

I've now driven a good couple of hundred miles with the RS2 fitted and, as per my short comment yesterday, absolutely brilliant. I'm hugely impressed; particularly when considering that the car, at present, is running the completely standard...
I've just picked up my cup from JMS. Absolutely brilliant!
Even without any mapping, the car feels completely different; very impressed!
I'll, of course, write a more detailed review when I get home.
Yes mate, the belts were done around 18 months ago.
I'll see what comes from the calibration results before making a decision. I'd like to get the 428s in, so fingers crossed they'll prove a worth while addition alongside the RS2. :)
It's not really an issue that the cams can't be run alongside the RS2 :)
It's to ensure that it's worthwhile going to the cost/efforts of installing the cams, as an addition to the RS2. If they're not going to give a worthwhile gain over just the RS2, then it's not worth proceeding down the...
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
For the fitting of the cams; it's essentially a cambelt service, plus a little extra (the cost of physically installing the cams, new cam seals)
Hopefully it won't be long before they're in anyway. :)
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Slight change/amendment of plan. :)
There's some further calibration work in progress, regards running the RS2 alongside 428 profile cams.
Having spoken to and taken advice from Tom this afternoon, I'll be holding fire on having the 428's...
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
The current carbon splitter has a small crack/split on the bottom edge (where I reversed down my mates drive and it was a little steep :dead: )
But, if you're still interested, I can give you a shout once it's off the car in a few weeks...
Re: Ollie's Silver Cup - JMS RS2/428s/Wilwood/2118
Quick update for this morning :)
Just ordered a few items from Streamline Carbon; front splitter, front diamond, fog light surrounds and headlight washer blanks.
As mentioned before, I have a carbon diamond and splitter on the car...
