Where did I say anything about her insurance?
I mentioned a 172 because you obviously want something nippy and, being on this site, you were likely to have an affinity for Clio's. And a well maintained 172 is not unreliable at all.
Go get your Abarth you f**king nugget.
And I have a mate who's had all his loans/insurance through his parents. He's now 29 and has zero no claims and no credit history. It's a complete false economy.
Some companies will settle the finance when you buy a new car from them.
Can you not bang the new one on an interest free credit card for 15months?
Or better still, buy a car you can afford? Debt only results in more debt in my experiences.
I don't think anyone would winge if the money was being spent on roads.
Its also a blatantly unfair system. You have guys in 2.5 litre diesels doing 30,000 miles a year paying less than my gran in her 10 year old 1.1 fiesta that sits on her drive 6 days a week.
Its not a case of moan about...
The bonnet catch letter is a good one to send out. As the car changes hands it informs a new owner of a common issue they need to address. Ok, every 5 years isn't great - but I think it's worth them doing it.
I don't understand them sending out cambelt letters that aren't car-specific. That...
The Trophy will be my daily. The 172 is up for sale. Been a great car for me and probably slightly more practical as a daily. I just don't really have the room for all the cars we have at the moment. Sad really, someone's going to bag a bargain.
I know knack all about tidying up paintwork etc...
I'm quite keen to keep the airbag so going to get a refurb'd wheel. I agree though, they're stupidly big. Feels especially daft after the 197 wheel. Right now the main job is getting the paintwork sorted and the interior cleaned up. Mechanically the car is very good. Could do with rear discs and...
Yeah, 'scuse the photos. Just using my phone. The tyres also look fucked in the pictures, when they're not that bad at all. I will bd changing them though.
Yeah, the steering felt so heavy and wouldn't return to centre. The size of the wheel is perfect...but I couldn't live with it.
I thought I'd get this thread going as there's a bit of work going into it and I'd like some opinions on future plans etc. I bought this from a member on here a few weeks ago and just getting round to sorting a few bits. The car has been registered as a Cat D at some point and need a bit of TLC...
Will fault codes be stored on an intermittent fault?
Got my traction control and serv lights coming on now and again. I just know that when I go to the garage the lights will be off and everything will look fine. Will a diagnostic still pick up that something isn't right?
Think it's that angle...
