Just disconnect the rear wiper motor, I too got annoyed with it wiping and smudging my rear screen. Or do what others have said, before you select reverse push the stalk back up. Im guessing your wipers only stay off if you turn the car off with them in auto mode. Like older Clios etc.

Oh your are IMO. Well depends on how the driver drives too though. I they just don't seem to batter an eye lid when a corner comes. Fantastic cars.
