W538 ABP got written off in July at the ring, heavy impact to the drivers side. Was drive able to get home but was then broke for bits but it's heart still lives on in a sunflower. Not all too bad :D
W538 ABP got written off at the ring last year in a light but crash but was enough to call it a day. The car was broke and sold for bits whilst the engine got put into a sunflower and the shell got reused I think. Looks lovely in that photo.
First thing that comes to mind is driveshaft but you description is weak. Go and have a play and find out when it does and doesn't make the noise. Then come bCk and explain what you've found. That way then your get a better answer to your problem and more help from others.
Exactly my thoughts mate. But where as you've said about not having much luck with popping the girls out surly if I did I'd be closer to the catch to release it. God knows. Awkward situation really.
I was was hoping someone or maybe a trader would know how to get it done neatly.
It's a possibility, but long arms needed? Quite similar to my idea about pushing the grills out and trying that way but I think the cables come away from the catch ( bonnet end ).
Sounds stupid but this car does get driven? Not a project type sat in the garage.
If it does get driven then check your front jacking points. They'll split and even the smallest of gaps will allow the water to filter along between the skin of the car. Obviously aswell with your rear footwell...
Wtf lol.
Skinz; I've tried being aggressive with the bonnet. Mine already has soft dents in it but feels that if I continue pulling I'm going to bend the whole thing. Once I've got it open I'm going to book it into Renault for my bonnet catch. Got sent a letter.
Mate seems to think the cables come off the latch due to the way it feels on the lever.
So what's the next step. I thought about pushing the grills out and seeing what's what, unless anyone has any other ideas or experiences.
Help appreciated. Josh.
Thankyou Fred. Will have a look once the rain stops. May call you soon with an occurring APD problem which needs sorting..!
And chip, thanks. Will have a good look when I can.
Flashing light normally points to an injector. Mine would do the same and also flash if idled for a long time. A little rev would clear it but a faulty injector was the cause.
My 2p worth.
Was fine 1 minute then bang, no power, TC light on along with SERV light and the box light with squiggly line going through. Car came to a halt. Wouldn't start then did with revs bouncing rapidly between 2.5-3k. Went on too proceed to a car park further up the road with it idling like that and...
I had a similar misfire as you've described. Mine turned out to be two injectors not functioning properly. Replaced them and it was cured.
Fingers crossed.
I had one for 2 months. Was a buzzing little car which never seemed to need fueling.
Mine was a decent one too with half leather etc etc.
From a 1.2 your notice a difference in mpg but that's understandable.
Mines on very similar mileage Phil and I very much doubt I do as many trackdays as you but when I do it gets a beating.
If cams aren't that important for you whilst your on itb's, how would the rs2 work without updated cams?
And chip thanks for your advice. Hasn't gone unnoticed.
Hmm, interesting. Thanks for that. Clears it up more and more with the route I'll be taking.
Sharky, are valves around £300 normally or are there other options? Uprating the valves a defo thing to do once rs2-ing or would it just be personal preference thing to do. I didn't budget this you see.
