In my 200 it would take me a hour sitting at 50 on a flat motorway to get it up to 30mpg! The extra mpg would save me £8 a week, £32 a month. I'm really not going to get upset about £32.

id love one! I can't remember fuel being Less that £1 ha .. aye but chip, even if you worry about it and get the extra 1-2 mpg they'll only shove petrol up a other 3p and wipe out the effort. Stand by my point - pointless worrying about it.

No at all I come out with a average wage (less than 2k pm) as does the mrs, we have bills to pay etc .. But I don't go on the piss every weekend or anything like that - I'd rather have a nice car. I'd rather spend the (I agree ridiculous example) £150 per day extra and drive my car though. But...

on long runs don't 1*2s not get nearer 45-50 mpg though, but that's my point , if I was doing long runs I'd get 40mpg .... Usually get about 470 miles from a full tank. Adjust your driving to the circumstances and don't moan about it.

well then just read your handbook. It's simple really... Less acceleration , less braking, accurate gear changes. But is it just me that thinks anything over 30 mpg is brilliant?

I probably do 30-40 miles a day ... Could be doing 1000, and the only thing I'd really be bothered about is how many miles where on the clock
