I've always been Clio mad. I've owned three 172 cups and a Clio 197. Of course these got me the track day bug! After doing a couple of track days at my local circuit, cadwell park, I felt I had the need to get into motorsport competitively. Overtaking on the left down the straights is boring! I...
I use a GoPro and the AIM Solo together. You can see my feet working and gear changes on board. It is compulsory to have a HD Camera in our championship so I have a GoPro HD Hero 3+. The lap timer was an afterthought. £1200 is wayyyyy out of my budget, silly money. People who can afford it, fair...
I know someone in the MK2 Golf GTi Production championship who wanted to make racing happen so much, he left his wife to be able to afford it all lol. I am in no way suggesting to do this. Don't bin the idea. It just might not happen this year or next, but you can always start preparing for it...
Just put this in here...
Fair play to anyone starting racing on a small budget. I do it myself. But don't skimp on safety! Anything can happen out on track. If your car isn't prepared to a good enough standard and you have a heavy smash then it could well be fatal. Things like ballast...
I'm only a tyre and exhaust fitter and I manage to be able to afford racing. I have a very small budget. No sponsorship. Its just about making sacrifices in other departments to be able to afford something you really want. For example I don't go out each week drinking.
As said above. 90% of...
lap timing wise. very accurate. Pretty much turn on and the GPS knows which circuit you're at and where exactly the finish line is. I haven't used the software as yet. it shows lowest speed and highest speed reached per lap. you can mount it to your dash or even to the centre of the steering...

I managed to get round the first corner and then to smash into another car in the first race.
First time out properly, damp track, bent car, whilst battling with 2 other cars - 2:12
Cadwell is my favorite track to race at. Love the place. Plus its 10 minutes from me. I do also like Oulton park but I had a crash there so a little bitter sweet for me. I was driver of the event at Croft. Didn't think I was going to enjoy it but can't wait to go back in 2015!
Do you drive to...
Nice to see you doing a build thread on here. Do you enjoy the Clio more than the Saxo you raced? I'm sure you'll do well next season if your results in Stock Hatch are anything to go by!
Well done Adam! How does the Tricolore Trophy work? I see there's classes A,B,C,D and E. What does each class mean? Over 18 cars racing its a lot of classes!
Is class E the standard production class?
Guess I need to post up myself. I race in the BRSCC Mazda MX5 Championship car #15. Pics from when I first took delivery of the car. Few little bits have changed now but car looks respectively the same.
Seen over a few threads there have been quite a few race car builds and some really good track day car's being made. Who on here actually races? Post a picture or pictures of your car and tell us which championship and class you race in. Doesn't have to be Clio related!
