To be honest im starting to go right off hatches, think i ve done about 700 miles in the last 2 weeks in the panda and the bumpy ride is really starting to piss me off! My best mates just bought a range rover classic, v8 auto, drove that earlier and its bloody marvellous!
It will be the throttle body, wants stripping down and cleaning up to start with (brake cleaner works well) or worst case scenario a new one.
Any decent garage should be able to do that for you, I would estimate an hours labour.

I paid £5k for mine on 40k!, it did have a years Fiat warranty on it though, 4x eagle f1's, 12 months MOT, 6 months tax and a major service...
Electric steering packed up though which I claimed through the warranty, would have cost me £700.

Well its nowhere near as heavy as my old landrover defender, but if you jump out of a clio 1.2/ corsa or any other eurobox then you do notice the clutch is slightly heavier than what your used to, its no biggy, just a characteristic of the car.
They are good as a daily, nice bit of power in reserve so you drive it fairly fast without thrashing the tits off it.
Only negatives of my 172 were:
-OZ F1's fairly intricate to clean
-Rattles
-Driving position not the best
-Clutch heavy in stop start traffic.
