I was going to sell mine after buying a new golf gti back in December. Wrote the ad then decided against it. Had mine 11 years now and it's not hit 23k miles yet. Re-taxed it last month and taken it out for a couple of spins. Still makes me smile. Don't think I'll ever sell! Fck the house...
That is really serious. As said, that could have taken out the house with your family inside. They need to find and charge the c**t that did that. The annoying thing is they could easily catch the fucker, just depends how serious they (police) rank the crime.
Gutted for you.
I love them, obviously as I own one. Gti enough for me and my needs. See tonnes of R's on the road near me, more often than not in the nice blue. Been taking it steady in mine as not reached 1k miles yet but it's got some grunt, third gear is very strong but not really exceeded 4K revs yet...
I'd go with the elf stuff personally. It won't be rubbish and as long as you check the oil frequently and change it as recommended you should be fine. I use to drop my oil every few thousand in my first car and use Mobil 1. Complete waste of money, especially given the age, mileage and the fact...
Agree with you on the ride. So bumpy at everyday speeds. That said I majorly miss mine. I had the ST 2 with sat nav and mountune, just wasn't practical enough for lugging a new baby around in so swapped it at a year old for a focus ecoboost as mine was on a pcp with ford. I loved the colour...
I just bought a mk7 performance pack gti at beginning of Dec. Not run in yet as only on 700 miles but it's a nice solid place to be. Don't think it will be too dissimilar to yours. Can't wait to get some more miles on it.
Just read this and unlucky really re belts. These cars are getting on now and most will have had a hard life but hopefully yours will be fine after the work.
I love my 182 as it is and think the power is spot on for the car. I'd keep it stock power wise and see how you find it with the new...
I'm in the same boat. Pick up my new car tomorrow and cleaned the 182 up last week to sell. Looked so mint that I decided to sorn it instead and keep it in the garage. Stupid really but seems too good to part with.
Thought it was a jealous wolves fan until I read the thread. Pretty low to smash a car up regardless of the circumstances, but that's the lovely society we live in.
Only skip read this. Is it a toy for casual use/track etc. or a main car? I'll be selling my 22k miler RB 182 cup owned from new v soon although it's a cup so has the cloth seats which may not appeal if he's anal about interiors!
I do enjoy it when I drive it but hate parking it anywhere as don't want it damaged. Before I bought it I had a brand new VTS and someone put a parking crease in the back quarter and it always caught my eye, so I've always been stupidly careful with this one. I never used to care where I parked...
Joined in 2004 having just px'd my VTS for a new RB 182 cup. I still have it today with a whopping 22k miles on the clock. Have had a few other cars as well but kept this as its a minter. The only thing stopping me getting the new FRS is that this would have to go. Can't do it lol!
Tight margins and quick turnaround is how they operate. Not sure what they're like these days. I bought a 106 from them back in 2001. Car was competitively priced for sure, but you literally get the car and nothing else, I.e. No after sales, warranty, servicing. Suited me as paid cash. I like...
I looked at a couple of their Clio 200s back in February and wasn't impressed. There's always something that puts me off their cars. Spec/interior/history/mileage etc, I.e. The ones the dealer would send to auction as undesirable. The one I went to see was a black cup packed 200 on 30k miles...
AX looks sweet. Had a black one same as that 18 years ago and ran it into the ground. Gearbox bearings went amongst other things, was costing me a fortune each month.
