Over the past week I have noticed that when my car is turning right quite hard (at carpark speeds) it starts to squeek a bit. Had a look around and couldn't see anything obvious and when I had my car MOT'd they didn't notice anything either. It does sound like it is coming from the nearside...
Just had a phone call from the MOT centre. Every other car that came in today failed for the same reason. Their emissions machine was faulty. They have tested it at another site and it has passed! :D
The worrying thing is they were saying it took 2 hours for them to remove the decat (they...
Indeed I do! How would I check it though? The only faults it brings up on the front screen are the ones I posted in the previous thread (http://www.casa-canya.co.uk/rstuner.jpg). Should I be checking the live data?
EDIT: I have just checked the manual and I take it I run an actuator test?
Idle figure was 1.15 on the test
Fast idle was 1.56
:(
Looks like there is a big issue somewhere! I have been quoted £125+VAT for a new CAT. Not too sure what to do as I have been getting low MPG which could be the lambda sensor I suppose?
My car has gone in for a MOT (first one since I purchased it). The decat was removed and the old cat put back on and it has still failed its emissions test.
Anyone got any advice? The garage are saying they cannot check anything as they don't have any diagnostic equipment. What should I do...
Ok, last night I got home and connected it all up again (had to re-install the drivers/software as someone borrowed my other work laptop). Took the backups of the .rst and .cal just in case and then uploaded the "7300_5410 RON98 july 2008 .cal [new style ECU only]".
There was no .rst file...
Have pm'd Henk about the .rst and .cal file as the .rst file for my software version (7300) is no longer there (comes up page cannot be displayed when clicking on the link)
I am guessing that would flag up if you had a decat then? If the fault won't clear (even if you have not started the vehicle) I am guessing it will be a faulty lamda sensor :(
Unfortunately I ran out of time at lunch. I backed up my ECU but after finding some fault codes I didn't want to go any further. Will continue this evening after work :)
Anyone able to point me in the right direction for what they mean/what could cause them?

I am guessing one of them is due to my decat/emissions?
Looks very simple :) I suppose it depends on how confident you are with computers though. It is a case of downloading the drivers for the device from the website. Plugging in the device, installing the drivers, connecting the device to the car, loading up the application, reading the ECU and...
