Exhaust hanger on its way out allowing exhaust to rattle against the bumper? Had this on me 205GTI recently having been convinced for weeks that is was coming from the front left corner
Looks good.
What happened with any bits where you everran the plastic accidentally, and got it on the paint? Autoglym Trim & bumper restore leaves a slimey smear which is a pain to get off.

Hi Tim,
Still provisionally planned in for this. Will confirm nearer the time.
Will need to get the car seriously cleaned up, as it's in a right state!
Cheers,
Mark
Lovely looking liquid yellow 182 pulling out of a driveway into Gaydon last night. Must have been a "keenie" as it had a 3/4 sized front numberplate.
I was in a Trophy heading out of the village. Couldn't wave as had my managed in the car, and I want to hid the mental from him for a...
If one of you owns the other Trophy at Aston, apologies if through mistaken identity you once got bollocked for being late. One day when driving in a bloke was furiously gesticulating at his watch towards me. I assume mistaken identity as we both have "T** PHY" number plates
Very nice. Brilliantly done resisting the temptation to take your red Hammerite anywhere near the rear drum! Nice work so far... stick with the tasteful mods!
I'd enjoyed the morning cleaning, so hopefully it looked okay. Thanks for saying it looked good. It's getting there, but desperately needs a polish, as the paint is all swirls and marks.
I can't help but get egged on by the engine at the moment, and keep going a little faster, then a little...
Hi, yes, that was me too! I'd been to visit a friend who lives on that estate. I hope you didn't follow me for too long, as I'd have either been out on a "demonstration run", or would have been heading home down the Hethel road.... both of which would have resulted in "unconventional" driving...
You might have seen a wave actually, as to piss my GF off I'd been waving at every Clio all day (I am a habitual waver from years of Lotus and Land Rover driving).
Yeh, it's not been the smoothest of starts, but we are getting on much better now, with 2 weeks of reliable running.
Parents live...
Wasn't me then if A14... ! was on the A140 about then though.... Apologies if you waved and I didnt - I'm not very sharp at spotting sporty Clios yet :o
Was in Wymondham earlier in the day too....
Afternoon all, happy Friday!
A quick update on the little Clio:
- Alternator replaced and working
- Starting/immobiliser problem seemingly resolved with a squirt of WD40 down the ignition barrel
- Off to collect the car in an hour or two from BG motorsport having had the dampers...
Thanks Dan,
Strangely, it's the same with both keys, one of which looks brand new. I'll give it another couple of weeks of just making journeys which are running distance to home, so that if it decides it wants a rest, I can leave the car and still get home. Fingers crossed!
Hi all,
Been monitoring the non starting, and it seems to have been cured for the moment(though too early to get too excited)! Was an expensive fix... two squirts of WD40!
Below is the little note I was keeping to track the fault. Have added it for anyone looking at the thread in the future...
Ah, that's interesting then! Sounds like a prime culprit. Assuming the car starts, and I set off on the journey home, I'll play with the wipers and things to see if I can provoke it into having another moment.
Thanks for your help! :D
Okay, UCH.... A control module in the passenger footwell area??
Does this also control the rear wiper? I think this stayed stuck on on the drive to work this morning.....
So far, having only a 20% successful journey conpletion rate, the little Clio and I aren't getting on well!
Hmmm......
Is that a likely culprit to be failing?
Is the key itself passive, or could the battery in the key be running low, and failing to send the car the relevent signal? (long shot really, it being the key, as it unlocks fine).
Cheers,
Mark F
Right.... We aren't getting on well! 2nd breakdown left me stranded tonight!

Evening all,
