Having the standard tow eye in is illegal on the road when not being towed as it sticks out from the bumper, the strap is legal. 99.9999% of people have them purely because they think it looks good though.

No need at all to go for expensive coilies on a 1.2. Go for a cheaper set. Obviously don't go for something that looks like it was manufactured by a 5 year old, but the likes of Bilsteins/KWs etc are overkill on a 1.2.
